- Practice ended a little earlier than normal today. My theory is with training camp practices inching closer toward family night, the coaching staff would rather keep players as fresh as possible. The team has gotten healthier over the past couple days which is a good sign.
- The kicking battle continues between veteran Crosby and newcomer Tavecchio at just about an even split. Family night should provide a great indicator going forward on who has the upper hand going into pre-season both mentally and physically.
- The back end is really coming into its own. With Williams out, younger players have not wasted their reps. Davon House has come back from illness and been consistent and keep an eye out for first year player Loyce Means as a wild card down the stretch.
- It is hard to read into coach speech as it relates to the safety battle. McMillan and Jennings looks to be in a dead heat and continue to trade reps with the 1s. While we may have to wait until the end of pre-season for a decision, my gut says McMillan wins the job based on the plays he has made up to his point.
- Jones and Daniels were paired up as inside rushers in the nickel today. Taking these two defensive linemen and putting them side to side speaks volumes on what coaches think about their pass rushing ability.

Daniels and Jones are both ends in our defense. Jones was previously paired with Raji for nickel reps but my guess is they like what they see in Daniels so much with his pass rush, they wanted to see what push he can get there. Daniels has a great record in 1 on 1s.
Unfortunately the reports only have listed the inside rushers in the nickel defense and will leave that question unanswered because I do not know. My assumption will be that since Capers uses OLBs in nickel that it would be Clay Matthews and Nick Perry.

Thanks for doing this.
I had to drive all the way home (3 hours) to find out what I missed while I was there.
