I say Batman is the greatest superhero. He never uses a gun. He has no super powers, except perhaps the ability to exhibit immense self control.
What do you think? :)

Zero - Sorry, but that's way too vague.
Great by what? A good person? That would be Superman hands down.
Great by how much they accomplished with limited powers? Yes, that would be Batman.
Great by most powerful? That would probably be Silver Surfer or once again Superman.

What a bunch of bullshit. Batman is gay. He's got two side-kicks to hold the perimeter, a friggin' car with all kinds of 007 crap in it, a cave to hide in when he's feelin' a little anti-manic, pro-depressive,
dude's a walking psycho-analysts' summer-home. Superman allows kryptonite to kick his ass, plus see Batman regarding personal issues... he goes NORTH for respite, boy can't be right in the head, anyone from northern Wisconsin could tell you that much. Silver Surfer has no PR skills, as evidenced by the fact that I have no personal clue as to who the hell he is, and I have a deep personal knowledge of all serious super-heroes.
It has to be Spiderman... dude has Brett-Favre-like spidey sense... p u l e e z e, come with a better argument than THAT !

Greg Jennings can only be considered once he starts throwing the ball to himself like Brett did.

Superman.
I had written a paragraph explaining why, but I lost it on teh intarwebz..
=(
I can't recreate everything I wrote about it..
But I will say this:
Superman is a hero, not because of his abilities, his cape, or his red undies over his spandex.
He's a hero, and the greatest hero, because of the choices he makes every second of his existence.
Much like a fireman is not a hero because of the knowledge he's garnered from his profession, or because of the fire hose, helmet, or his fire proof coat.

Well, I can appreciate the fireman analogy, except they do get a hell of a lot more down-time than most super-heroes... I have never seen Spider-man feeding his colleagues, or waxing a truck. They also have protective gear, Spidey goes out in his skivvies and shoots silk at problems.
Even a NYFD manly-man would have a union-beef with that kind of equipment depravation. Superman seems to be always bullshitting somebody, just ask Louis Lane about honor issues... I'm just sayin'.

I'd take Spiderman or Superman over Batman any day of the week.
Batman's like an emo kid with expensive gadgets.
I never trusted him.
