hahahaha I wouldn't be surprised if your announcement brings more curious people than it discourages - who then would be disappointed at how mild the comments in the Back Alley actually are after reading your promo.

If you really want to discourage people, mention that horrible p word - politics, in which case all those posters who can't stand thoughtful rational discourse would get scared away.

The intent is not to discourage, the intent is to say hey, you not only clicked on this section, you went out of your way to knowingly give yourself access, therefore you have forfeited all right to complain about what you read. That is the intent.

FYI- we had several religious and political threads that went on for pages without people attacking others. It is only recently that this nonstop bickering with no end in sight has become an issue. So, politics and religious topics aren't Back Alley material, it is the annoying childish bickering that is going to be stuffed into that section and hidden from those who prefer to bicker about the Packers. :)
