Most always assume all draft picks from the recent draft are "locks" to make the final 53 roster. We all remember Cory Rogers, a former 4th round pick that was BALEETED prior to the 53 so it does not go unprecedented that a draft pick that high gets the boot.
1 21 Ha`Sean Clinton-Dix FS Alabama - Starter
Ha'Sean has done enough to push for a starting spot, he's a lock.
2 53 Davante Adams WR Fresno St.
- Backup
Davante will be the 4th WR the Packers roster behind Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Jarrett Boykin.
3 85 Khyri Thorton DT Southern Miss - Cut
Third round or not, I wouldn't hold it against the Packers if they cut him. I haven't seen anything positive from him other than he's not injured.
3 98 Richard Rodgers TE California - Starter
Richard just might have nailed down the starting TE position. At least, until Brandon Bostick is back to full health.
4 121 Carl Bradford OLB Arizona St. - Cut
The most notable thing about Carl is his Twitter name and in the NFL, that doesn't get you on the final 53. He is going to be cut.
5 161 Corey Linsley C Ohio St. - Starter
The only true Center the Packers have and with J.C. Tretter's significant or not significant knee injury, he is a lock. And do not be surprised if Tretter doesn't get his starting Center position back.
Linsley might give most a pleasant surprise.
5 176 Jared Abbrederis WR Wisconsin -
IR
I believe Abbrederis would have forced the Packers to keep 6 WR and 2 QB, but now they will probably keep just 5 WR and mistakenly keep 3 QB.
6 197 Demetri Goodson CB Baylor - Cut
Demetri will be cut. He couldn't cover Stevie Wonder in quick sand. He might want to go back to playing basketball, perhaps, overseas.
7 236 Jeff Janis WR Saginaw Valley St. - Backup
Janis will be the last WR on the depth chart and will probably climb to 3rd by mid season if he continues his progression.
After all is said and done, that is nine draft picks, three will start, two will serve solid backup roles, one is on IR and the other three will be cut. Of course, the "Cut" players are most likely to find themselves on IR with some phantom "knee" injury to protect the draft investment.
If this guesstimation holds up, this won't be a bad draft for the 2014 season.

Ah, that's prime starter material these days in Green Bay.

I don't think Thornton will be cut, especially after Raji's injury.
He hasn't flashed true but he also hasn't been out there getting tosses around and run over or anything.
Ideally you'd want him to have shown more but he hasn't looked bad enough to cut bait after 1 training camp.
Bradford if they aren't going to consider letting him play ILB then might as well cut him.
If we didn't have much depth at OLB like last year it might be different but we've got some good looking players going 3 deep at that position so there's not really any reason to keep a prospect deep on the roster.
Goodson is probably bound for the practice squad but I'm not really as down on him as some are.
He gave up a couple big plays last week when he fell down and then when he got a penalty tripping on a guy but otherwise he was physical tackling and had decent coverage.
Everyone seems high on Rolle but I think a lot of people tuned out in the 4th quarter last week because he didn't stop a single pass they threw at him and he didn't look good that game at all outside of 1 tackle.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Goodson make the roster over Rolle.

Agreed.
Are Guion, Robinson, and Gray much better options at this point?

I thought he was a for sure cut (and probably is) but I read someone suggest the Packers might carry him for a year hoping he grows like they did with Brian Brohm... and that made me wonder.

And yeah he covered James Jones pretty well knocking the would be touchdown ball out of his hands before knocking Jones out of bounce... for an upset Jones and a very funny big smiling Nelson who was flashing the no-catch sign... I assume teasing Jones about it... [grin1]

I think they’ll probably attempt to keep everybody within the organization. Thornton will make the team. Defensive linemen don’t develop right away, and the Packers aren’t going to give up on a third rounder. I could see Bradford being cut, but landing with another team. I’d probably lean toward him making the roster, though.
Goodson won’t make the team, but they may stash him on the practice squad.
