This is YOUR Power Rankings, right? Not some recognized national organization (not that PackersHome isn't that hahahaha)?

The list wreaks of over-reaction. Seattle 26th? Come on! If that ain't sarcasm, it's just wrong. We may have beaten the second best NFL team, certainly no lower than 3rd or 4th. And the Colts 31st? They are nowhere near as good as many thought in the preseason, but nowhere near that bad either. And if you want to be consistent in having the bottom fall out for teams that lose, why not Buffalo the same as Seattle? And the Bears 32nd? You know, irrationally putting down the teams we beat just irrationally diminishes the Packers for having beaten the 26th and 32nd teams.

After a couple of more weeks for things to shake out, I'll give you my Power Rankings.

I was also a bit surprised where the Pats ranked - I figured top 5 for them. That said - it is hard to rank teams based on 2 regular season games, as it is still fairly unclear for teams like SF who showed up for week 1 and not week 2. Early season is full of inconsistency (keep that in mind fantasy players) and only gives a small sample of data.

It's hard to get a good reading from the power rankings here until a larger sample of data is collected. I still have the balls to put my name to the rankings and post them every week and stand behind them! Why? Because by the end of the season, the data will prove correct once again, just like it did last year! :D

This is all true, but I think it's a safe bet that the Patriots will seriously be in the hunt for the Super Bowl again this year. They are the defending champs and have looked great through the first two weeks, not to mention that are essentially perennial contenders anyway. What team will slow them down in the AFC? I would say the Colts might have a chance, but I don't know what's going on with that team. The vaunted Bills defense obviously couldn't slow them down. The Ravens that just got beat by the Raiders? The Dolphins that just got beat by the Jaguars? The Andy Dalton-led Bengals? The Bronco's likely won't have much gas left come the playoffs. Maybe the Steelers continue to improve.

Either way, the Patriots are looking like the favorite to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl yet again, at this early juncture of the season. Obviously things can change at any time.

Oh OK. You called me out; I'll comply. It rained so I can't play tennis this afternoon anyway.

BTW, I was wondering, do you do your predictions based on your power rankings?

1. Packers - OBVIOUSLY!
2. Patriots
3. Seahawks (I'm not so sure 2 and 3 shouldn't be reversed)
4. Steelers
5. Cowboys
6. Cardinals
7. Niners
8. Broncos
9. Chiefs
10.Bills
11.Falcons
12.Eagles
13.Rams
14.Chargers
15.Ravens
16.Saints
17.Vikings
18.Colts
19.Bengals
20.Bears
21.Panthers
22.Dolphins
23.Jets
24.Texans
25.Browns
26.Giants
27.Titans
28.Lions
29.Redskins
30.Jaguars
31.Buccaneers
32.Raiders

Based partly on record, but mostly on gut feeling about who is stronger
