This is why the so called charts have little value. It doesn't factor score, weather, field conditions strength of the offense or defense.
It says to punt when you are at the opp 38 and need 11 yards but go for it if you need 10 yards?

Where did this chart come from?
What is so special about the opponents 34 that it is singled out? Maybe that is the average maximum range of an NFL kicker? Notice that if you only have less than three yards, you should always go for it.
Even at your own 1 yard line. lol
