NFL is taking a 5th round pick away from the Texans because they provided Deshaun Watson with $26,777 in membership compensation for use of an off-site athletic facility in 2020 during the pandemic.
Off-site was needed because the team site was shutdown during this time in Covid.
Texans disagree with the league’s ruling as it did not give them an advantage but “will accept the imposed discipline”.
My follow up questions to this would be...
1) If there was no advantage, then why did you pay?
2) If you didn't know this was wrong, then why didn't you do it for all players? Or even just all star players? Why just Watson?
3) Did they have special massage therapist?
