Michael David Smith Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams led the NFL in receiving touchdowns last season, had a career-high in yards per catch, and was chosen a first-team All-Pro for the third straight year. And he did it all without Aaron Rodgers.

Adams admits he didn’t like the perception in some circles that his success in Green Bay was a product of Rodgers’ greatness, and that he’s glad he succeeded last year without Rodgers.

“Now people can’t say that,” Adams told TheRinger.com. “That’ll never be the narrative ever again. . . . It proved that I am me. . . . A quarterback doesn’t make me. . . . I make me. And I can do it consistently at this level. . . . That’s why [last] season meant a lot. Even if I went and played like dog shit next year, they can’t say it. Because now I’ve already proved it throughout the course of a season, played every game, and put together a résumé that says I do not need. . . . You can erase all the numbers. You can just write in: He didn’t need Aaron Rodgers.”

A year later, the Packers will hope they can prove that the franchise doesn’t need Rodgers. And the Jets will hope that Rodgers is just what they need.

Also, proved Aaron Rodgers probably needed Davante Adams.

Gosh, thank you. I had NO IDEA. Oh, wait, yes, YES, I did.

Some are saying this interview by Adams is him explaining why he wanted to leave Green Bay Packers. Meaning, he wanted to leave so he could show the world he wasn't a product of an elite QB. Seeing as he did that, I wonder if he drops at all in his statistics?

Another giant EGO feeling the need to tell everyone how GREAT he is!
I'm surprised that his sister hasn't come on to spout out how great Adams is.
I never doubted that Adams was a great WR.  His stats proved it. He should have just let his stats show it.
Just my opinion.

Adams comment about the front office and him not seeing eye to eye on what is best for Raiders right now was kind of eye opening. You're a WR, not the General Manager, not the Vice President. I dunno. I'm not one to say players shouldn't have a voice. I just think ... why say this publicly? What is the benefit? What is the end goal? So if the Raiders do not perform well you can be like "hey I told ya all in the summer we didn't see eye to eye, that's all I gotta say bout it now" ... so you can pat yourself on the back for being right?

I just don't know. I'm clueless I guess.

And thats all I can say about that lol, imagine if we could of got the 2 picks for Adams and then got the Picks from Denver for Rodgers? We would have had a ton of young talent and plenty of room under the cap and have a year of seeing what Love can do.   Oh well we still got a 1st and 2nd but could you imagine we could of had  5 first round picks for the last 2 drafts and 6 2nd round picks and tons of cap space.

I thought Davante Adams would ball out year one with different team. He did. I also said I thought he'd statistically slump in year two. I kinda am curious how he does with Jimmy G.
