I've read a lot of articles. A lot of Tweets. Listened to a lot of interviews. And I am a little concerned. The Packers are kind of acting like they've accomplished something massive by beating a team that won three games the season before. My concern is they will come crashing down hard vs Falcons.
You have to celebrate the wins. Absolutely. It just seems the players are too giddy for what they accomplished. This wasn't a playoff win. This wasn't a win to get into the playoffs. It was a win vs a bad team that won just three games last season.
The Falcons have a pretty stout running game and I am a believer that running is a mindset. Right now, I think the Packers have a mindset that they've kind of arrived. And it's gonna be on Falcons turf which is gonna make them even faster and probably cause us to have some poor angles. Should be easy to adjust to after Quarter 1 though.

I think its a good thing. It will cause them to play with confidence. Hopefully they will only get better as the season goes on. In the past we always started slow.

Nothing wrong with playing with confidence. Its actually a good thing. This team has been missing the good and loosen vibes when Rodgers was around. It seemed to suck the fun out of the team when he would talk about how bad everything was after a loss or even a win. Let these kids enjoy their first win under Love. You are looking wayyyy too much into this.

Yeah the team could get too cocky, but getting punched in the mouth isn't always a bad thing, it about how you respond to it.
But yes, the Falcons (whom learned the wide zone under LaFleaur when both were with the Titans and then followed LaFleaur as Titans offensive coordinator) will stay extremely committed to the run game and will absolutely try to pound the rock down the Packers throat.
Falcons had 18 passes to 26 runs in week 1.
They have invested heavily in draft picks to their offense, but their defense has been crap, this off-season they hired the Saints DL coach and brought in a bunch of vet FAs from Saints, Titans and elsewhere to help the defense.
It'll be interesting to see how Packers run defense holds up, and how the Falcons new defensive looks. Also they got coach Jerry Gray, whom knows a thing or two about the Packers.
One thing I noticed (and this is partly scheme based), is Love is hitting those check downs hot and heavy, which he should be in this scheme, but Rodgers didn't exactly do that.
But also the Packers did not seem to be on the same page with the deep balls, too often, the ball and intended receivers were not going to the same exact spot. So in theory, if a team tries to take away all the short spots, and dares the Packers to beat them deep, that could be an issue, at least until they get in the same page.

I've been enjoying the outburst of media doom. Chicagoans are crashing to earth, realizing it was all delusion.

You are absolutely correct. Confidence is good. However, my point is it seems like they feel they won something of significance by beating a team that won three games the previous season. What will tell me a lot if their tone Wednesday. Not that they NEED to show me crap, but I think it'll be telling how they are talking. If they're still talking about the Bears game or if they're shuffling those comments off by saying "that was last week, it's Falcons week and we're aiming to be 1-0".
BUT you could be correct that I'm looking way too much into it. I won't deny that, haha.

I think they're just fired up. Especially from silencing the ridiculous level of smack that's been talked. It's not like they're being douchey and overconfident from too much coke.
I mean, Fields for MVP? ðŸ¤

I agree with both umair+bboystyle on this. The energy level looked completely different out there and guys were flying around. Guys were playing loose and fast, esp on defense.

I mean, it would be hard not to celebrate when the three win team that talked endless shit over the offseason. Jaire+Gary will get the defense in line and Love will get the offense on task with the help of the old hands (Bakh, Jones etc). You're looking too far into it! ;)

I am not sure why you guys were all freaking out. My goodness!! Making mountains out of anthills!! 😂
Anyhow, listening to the press conferences and locker room interviews. I heard what I wanted to hear. A lot of "hey that was just one game" and basically saying they have to do it again and again.
I just don't know why you guys were taking so much into their excitement over Week One victory. 😉😉
