Reportedly Marshall has 25+ players entering the transfer portal and as such feel the need to opt out of it's Bowl Game vs Army.
If I'm understanding this correctly, because there are so many Bowl games, they're now trying to figure out whom the best 5-7 record team is to replace Marshall and face Army.

incidents like these make it more understandable why Hafley chose to move back to the pros

Feels like the quality of NFL games are going to inevitably take a dip because of this kind of stuff.

I have been very frustrated to watch players leave the team I cheer for. I think this shows the system is working, not broken. The coach that recruited the kids to Marshall is moving on. Why not let the players do the same thing? Chaining the players to a college that no longer provides what was promised to them is wrong.

I didn't know that was happening. Great insight.
I've long thought it was unfair to force kids to stay when basically the entire coaching staff changes, as a player might think, or might know, that the new coaching staff, or the new schemes, don't fit them well, and/or where not what they wanted to play under.
The players don't have the right to leave if they want to, but the college have the right to attempt to kick them off the team (or take away their scholarships) if they want to stay and the team doesn't want them, as we saw with Deion Sanders at Colorado (and I'm sure it happens all over, just Sanders got more attention than normal doing it).

This is what I used to really like about the NFL vs NBA/MLB. It seemed those two leagues would flip players like used candy, but the NFL had players sticking with the team more often than not. Turns out, it was probably an illusion as NFL has at least twice the amount players on it.
