Cody Williams If there was ever a time for Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst to turn up the franchise's aggressiveness dial to 11 and make a blockbuster trade, it's now. The team is armed with nearly $40 million in cap space that could only increase, it's one of the youngest rosters in the league, and they're coming off back-to-back playoff appearances. It's a window to take advantage of and vault themselves into the next tier of contenders.

Sounds like this proposal is sending Jaire Alexander and
Lukas Van Ness to Browns for Myles Garrett.

I don't think I'd hesitate on that one if I'm the Packers. The Browns might want some draft capital though. Maybe that was in the article and I missed it?

The actual trade proposal in the article was Myles Garrett for Lucas Van Ness plus our 2025 2nd round pick, our 2026 1st round pick, and our 2026 3rd round pick.

Teams most likely would demand the high picks come first, so even if the Browns would agree to something like this (which I doubt they would), if would be 1st and 3rd from 2025 and the 2nd from 2026.

Not sure anyone would want Alexander contract right now, considering he's only been able to play 8 games once in the last 4 years.

Van Ness hasn't shown much of anything to be worth a high pick, he's got much more value to the Packers than any other team.

He had been coming on at OLB. For whatever reason at DE he crapped the bed and regressed a lot. He has the physical tools and most coaches have major ego thinking "I can fix him". I think that would be the allure. The physical aspects plus his age.
