Tengo (and anyone else that wants to hear it)

Your thoughtful interjection of the sadness of losing Steve McNair prompted me to think of a phrase that I heard often as a (relative) lad.
It has been subsequently and simultaneously bastardized by some in "this" era, but at one time it was both profound and highly expository.

The phrase was (to be clear, no longer is)...

"It ain't nothin' but a thing."

(Recommend consultation with Nick/Vikesrule if further edification needed)

I could put the list up of our fellow Americans serving in places most have never heard of, expound upon the ongoing offensive in Afghanistan (I sincerely forgive the poster many months ago that characterized that as a glorified police action)

I forgive everyone for rendering opinions on Iraq this 4th.

The economy, the jobs lost, etc. etc. etc.
R.I.P.
Steve and the young lady, also.

I guess the short version of a long story is this. (I am qualified, imo)

Happy 4th, everyone!

To all of you whom I tried to call today but didn't answer, I hope you had a WONDERFUL Independence Day.

Thanks to all of you who have suited up to defend this country, but more importantly, thanks to all of you who have kept this country running while the servicemen and women were on the front lines.
All the soldiers, Marines, sailors, and airmen in the world wouldn't mean a thing if we didn't have farmers, carpenters, masons, engineers, entrepreneurs, taxi drivers, cooks, mechanics, physicians, painters, lawyers, street
cleaners, garbage collectors, postmen, airline pilots, custodians, computer programmers, educators, babysitters, parents, and homemakers making the United States a wonderful place to live.

Imagine . . . 233 years and counting. It's amazing.
After all these years, we are still functioning under the same Constitution.
In fact, we have the oldest continuous government in the world right now.
Since the ratification of our Constitution, every other nation currently in existence has either been formed or fundamentally changed its form of government.

Here's to another 233 years!

This was originally created in 2002.

If it doesn't work you need a Java plug-in.

Turn speakers up.

Click anywhere on the screen, as often as you want...multiple clicks=multimple launches.

Fireworks generator

Pretty neat, huh?
