I have most of the new site up right now.

PackersHome.info
please check it out and relay the speed you're having. Is it loading fast, slow, same as here?

I'm working out a few bugs too. Blocks on left and right do not display. Not sure why yet.

Popped over there.. speed looks good from here.
Other than the blocks and a sync of the database.. looks good.

The speed is what I'm worried about most. On my end, setting some things up took a little bit on the load time that I was not bonerfied with. Speed is something that this site has and I do not want to lose that.

Per the DB, I'm still waiting for the current host to provide me a damn backup.
They said insufficient data or no data found. That's bull, there's over 50MB's of MySQL data in that beast. 40ish of it in posts!

<-- I need to keep that damn link!

Problem fixed. The CORE of the website should be functional now. Could someone test out the GameDay chat thing? If it doesn't work for me, it could be MX Logic kicking my ass.

Speed seems fine.
You are certainly correct about the fact that your site has always been fast.
High compliments for that.
In an unrelated matter, my ISP updated to the point of accepting firefox's latest version, so I have gone back to that.
The reason I bring this up is because just for shits and giggles I got out of firefox and came back in via IE8 just to see if that compatabily view issue would somehow be resolved by the changeover.

It is and it isn't.
In IE8, it did not go into compatability view (all that really happens is an automatic refresh, so it isn't like the end of the world)
when you click on the link you provided in the beta thread.
However, when you click the forum button, (from the actual front page of the site, not in "forums" it brings you here, and then IE8 does it's compatability view thingy.
It is really a small matter, and I really didn't expect that to change, but sometimes it doesn't hurt to hope.

sorry-just stepped on your post, zero, please bump it

Chat is up and firing there, but I don't think that is the test you want.. as it is still pointing to the current PackersHome url... note below.

http://packershome.com/index.php?name=IRCChat&file=popup&host=irc.freenode.net

Changed the URL to read

http://packershome.info/index.php?name=IRCChat&file=popup&host=irc.freenode.net

Chat works.. however the tabs around the chat box are undefined.. probably address related I would guess.. but yes the chat and stream at the info address is alive.

Shawn, you rock! I wish I had smart ppl like you working with me in my job. It's refreshing to say the least.

So that should be all good to go. There's going to be a few image issues and link issues because I have some things ... cough ... hardcoded ... cough into some of the php files.
I'm not going to change them if the basis of everything works good.
Once I merge domains, we'll be set on that front.

If I can get a updated version of the datbase, I'll start throwing the new posts in there too. And apparently new members. It's the posts thats the tough one. It's a table larger than 40MB and whenever I try to export it from phpAdmin ... it errors out on me.
