I've often wondered, how do we know that sports like the NFL aren't staged, while professional wrestling is?
Why can't a game like professional football
be scripted.
My ideas on why this is so are rather nebulous and unformed (like all my other ideas, says Kevin), but they center around something having to do with chaos and skill.
You can choreograph the movement two people will make each other in a ring. It's much harder to control, say, exactly where a ball will go when it's flying 43 yards downfield with a couple of people underneath it.

The video was hilarious by the way. I laughed out loud a couple of times.
Scripting games for the NFL would be a gig I'd kill for!

Well did anyone see the Steeler vs Browns game when the Steelers went for it and
they came up short. They showed the measurement on tv and the others were even shocked, it was a full 2 links short but they gave them the first. I'll look for video of it when i get home.

Maybe the Packers have been scripted in this season to take a flurry of punches early.. look like the offensive line is going to cause them to lose the match.. only to come back with the "energy" of the "Cheeseamanics" to come back and win the title.. WWF style..

BTW.. with the level of officiating and the number of lop sided calls in certain games.. I think there are definitely some questions that could be asked.

I think a former player came out, and as a joke, did a complete interview with a podcast saying everything is scripted.

I believe a former star RB from the Texans, but he later came out and said that was a prank and didn't think so many would take it serious.

I don't think they could keep players quiet and probably not coaches, we are seeing more and more coaches lawsuits, so I don't think it's scripted, maybe refs try to keep game close, but not totally scripted as in whom wins and loses.
