If we sign a vet that means we have to get rid of Flynn, which I think is stupid because I think he might have a strong future. Also if you sign a veteran that means you give no oppurtunity to brohm and he won't get the experience he needs to be a good player in the nfl.

I say we keep the group we have and if rodgers does go down we let the rookies get some experience and not sell away our entire future for a veteran that will only be here for a little while.

No question about it.
He will be picked off the squad the first day he is availible.

I think in the coming years the Packers will use Brian Brohm as trade bait and keep Flynn as a number two for the Packers.

"eap33"We could always pick up Craig Nall again ;)

Don't be surprised if CN is signed.
He knows the system,if something would happen to AR, or if management decides that Brohm and Flynn are not ready by the start of the season, Craig Nall will be the guy to come in.

IMHO he needs to be signed now,
Brohm can be back-up, Flynn can be put on the PS.

A veteran back-up qb is hard to find, CN is a perfect fit.

It will never happen.
Why would a long time vet such as Nall want want to come to GB and be the 3rd string QB?
There is no incentive for him to do that.
He may come back if he is #2 which of course would hold back the growth of Brohm and Flynn.

Plus what safey net would having him as the #3 offer?
If he is #3 and Rodgers is injured, Brohm would have to come into the game.
If it has a serious injury and AR had to miss games, between Brohm and Nall, it is Brohm who
would have taken the larger portion of snaps in practice so it is Brohm would be the one who would be ready to step in and play.

Meanwhile look at how many teams have lousy QB's.
If their starting QB is sub par their 2nd and 3rd string QB could very well be poor as well.
There has to be at least 1 team out of the other 29 teams that can use Flynn as a #3 QB on their depth chart right now today.
He would never last a week on the pS.

Totally agree with this scenerio. Plus what would we really have if we had to bring in and play another QB? Not much I think. If ARod went down and our season went down with him, another "Blue Chip" draft might not be all that bad. Maybe get a young shut down corner back or stud lineman.
