"El3ment12"I don't remember ever hearing he could have been a top round pick. I heard LATE second round..
Nope there was talk tht several other teams were considering him if GB did not pick him in the 1st round.
Some "experts" felt that IF HE HAD NOT BEEN INJURED, which was a huge assumption, he would have gone top 10 easy.
So the feeling was once he was over his injury GB picked up a higher value player than the position they were drafting from.
You can't call a player who has not even started his 2nd season a bust.
True he has had injuries both years.
This years injury was a bit of a fluke.
TT's draft record has been so successful I can not see picking out one or two players and saying that GB should have done something different.

Hindsight being 20/20, of course this looks like a good thing now.
But that day, after I heard that Cleveland had been trying to trade back into the first round I thought, "why the hell didn't we go for that?"
I defintely didn't understand the Harrell pick at the time.

Means nothing.
No one is going to be perfect.
T.T. has proven he is one of the best in the NFL at judging talent, and that is not going to change.

he is hurt.
other wise it was a great pick.
he is an impressive specimen. strong fast... a very good Defensive tackle prospect.
He got hurt.
he isnt dead.
he likely will contribute at some point this season and then hopefully many more years to come.
Its way early to start second guessing i think.
Aaron Rodgers didnt start for 3 years and now he is the starting QB.
Harrell may take some time but i have faith he will contribute.

I think another way of putting it is even if Harrell was healthy was he worth a first
and second rd pick.
They must have been pretty high on him.
and second rd pick.

"longtimefan"Denver was going to jump on harrell ( they picked 17th and Packers picked 16th ) and I have a feelingTed Thompsonknew that
You do what you needed to do AT THE TIME...
now does it look stupid? Possibly...
But at the time he was a projected top ten pick.....He had an injury that should have been a non issue after a few months.
No one knew he would injury him self this past year playing Wii.
He Got Hurt Playing WII ??!!?!?!?! :microwave:

This thread is why I'm really liking what you guys have done here web-site-wise.
I am very tired of the forums that are populated with those that have such an agenda that they must bash TT at every turn, utilizing whatever ammo they can find.
I really have nothing of value to add to this conversation, except to say the fact that Justin Harrell isn't producing isn't his fault, TT's fault, or anyone's fault except for what IMHO is a bit of bad luck.
