nerdmann;194650I think the defenses may be a little behind yet due to the holdout.
I hope to God you're right.

Dominant game by Rodgers. Shame that interception counted against him.
Starks look solid. Offensive line dominated.
D looks good in spurts, like it has all season. Need more healthy bodies back there.
Solid play calling by McCarthy, Broncos stood no chance.
4-0 BABY!

For those who think everything is fine and dandy, this is my favorite coach [mm] himself saying this:
[mm]'s playcalling was superb.
[ar]'s passing was superb.
Our O kicks ass.
Our OL could improve.
Our D needs work.
Have a feeling we'll win the SB this year with the #1 O and the #16 D.
“Trust me, we don’t have it all figured out as a football team,” McCarthy said. “We’re 4-0, but we’re very in tune with what we need to improve as a team.”

This offense is special. We knew it was great heading into the year, but this is a special unit led by a unique QB. Not many guys are as perceptive in the pocket as Aaron Rodgers is. I think they could surpass preseason expectations.
The defense is getting very close to putting together a dominate game. The pass rush didn't get there today, but I think you can see the progress. My worry is teams isolating Morgan Burnett one on one with a savvy route runner. He's an excellent center fielder, who covers a ton of ground, but he has issues playing man-to-man coverage. That’s really his only weakness, which is saying some for a second-year player. I can’t imagine Clay Matthews tearing it up soon. He’s due.

It was great to see the Packers getting tds out of the redzone trips! love mccarthys aggressive playcalling early, even while going four and out the first possession. I hope he continues that type of coaching cause you gotta let it fly with this offense. But the D was getting gashed a bit my orton (a guy who was in a qb controversy
with rex grossman!) def need more practice under there belt.

Yeah, the play-calling was excellent. Almost everything offensively was excellent. Y'all who were in the chat already know how I feel about the defense so I won't elaborate.
Fun fact: During the game the announcers mentioned that McCarthy was probably only challenging the INT because of his respect for Rodgers. When a gullible journalist asked Mike during the press conference he burst out into derisive laughter chuckling "No, I wanted to get the ball back!" Hahaha. I thought that was awesome. Sports journalists are truly the bottom of the barrel.

Yeah, it seemed far-fetched that McCarthy would challenge a play just to stroke his QB's ego. I don't see how a bad challenge would accomplish that anyway. It just caused a bad play to be replayed multiple times. (I think the INT was Rodgers' fault for throwing the ball too hard.)
The defense needs to get better if this team is going to win another championship. I'm not sure what the problem is. The offense is great because of Rodgers and the receivers, who caught pretty much everything that came their way. When those guys play that well, the O-line can be just okay and it's more than good enough.
