Well, some people define hits differently, but a true hit is any call to the server including images and other files. However, some people still call hits page views even though they are 2 different things.

It looks like your stats are accurate, but you are confusing the term "page views" with "hits."

I only track unique visitors, anyone who comes in, differentiated by unique IP. I refresh the page a hundred times a day, that doesn't mean anything.

I eliminate my IP's and set a one hour limit to count a unique a second time. This way, you know who is coming and coming back, not flying by or refreshing. All page views tell you is that people are going into topics, which they should, because this is a forum.

Count uniques, it's the only way to remain objective. But, you don't get the astronomical numbers to throw out.

Unique IP visits I agree is the best way to measure traffic. Which is also how they are tracked on this server.
However, it is set for only one HALF hour.
