gbguy20;209324Here's Capers;
"Been a good day for us on defense. With Perry and Worthy and Hayward, good young players on defense. All a little unique in what they bring to the defense.
Worth has good initial quickness and strength. Hayward is a very bright, classy kid. Been a captain. Good football instincts. He's got excellent ball skills. If you want to move him around i htink he can do some of that. I'm very excited to get these guys in a few works and start working with them.
Hayward is a corner. Could use him some as a nickel.
Haven't had discussions yet whether to move Woodson to safety. Still waiting to see how the rest of the draft goes. Woodson has played all over.
The way we picked was true to what our board was. All three players had excellent evaluations on. I'm glad it's gone this way it's gone.
With the offenses we play with the Saints and Lions, they're putting four and five receivers out there. That's the nature of the game. Have to deal with coverage and have to rush the passer.
Wouldn't be a radical move to to move Woodson to safety. It's something could change week to week. Many times who you're playing dictates that. "
I'd consider moving Heyward to S as well.
Either way, LOVE this pick!

I think that is where the part of the quote that says "Heyward is a corner" came from.
Someone probably asked Capers about the possibility of moving him to safety.

After the most Worthy selection I ducked out for an hour or so to do some work.
I came back to discover that Uncle Teddy took my advise and moved up yet again.
Makes me happy.

Ted absolutely abused the Pats position to his advantage. If I am not mistaken, the Pats had no more pics the entire draft after the 2nd round pick they traded to the Packers; they were no doubt desperate to pick up something for day-3. Impressive play by Ted / his staff. Judging by how unfair the offer was that the Pats accepted... I'm guessing they got only 1 or 2 offers - if any - for that 2nd round pick other than ours.

Watching his 2008-11 Vandy highlights reel, I see a little bit of Chuck in him.
Great ball skills, and not afraid to stick his nose in on a play.
Love how he meets the point of attack on pulling lineman.
Kid appears to have no fear.
He will find his way onto the field.

What you have to ask yourself is Charlie Peprah better to have on the field than a corner when playing nickel and dime coverages?
I say haul his ass off the field and let these young corners play and cover.
But Whitt and Perry have to kick the TNS out of Shields and Williams albeit playing with a bumb shoulder last year.
These guys have to tackle consistently.
They were all cheating too much last year going for picks and not playing fundamental ball.

Well, I've said our first two picks would be OLB and DL for sure (in either order).
I said our next 2 picks will be DB and OL.
So I guess that means [tt] picks OL next.
Hope this guy turns out to be good. [-o<
I'm reading mixed reviews in the press.
Some say we upped the Patriots and some say he's a 3rd round talent.
So I guess we'll see...

Good player. I don't see him as a safety, though. He's a corner, but a good one.
These were my notes on him.
I like that he has a chip on his shoulder about his run support. Many people have mentioned this and he seem to go out of his way to talk about his physical ability, specifically against the run.

Hayward is a productive corner that plays the ball well. He’s an instinctive player, who does a nice job of jumping routes and making plays on the ball. He’s needs to get more physical, which especially shows up in his run support.

Uncle Teddy called you at work?
That is cool.
