gbguy20;224670hes a pretty big back so i am lost
Yeah, I don't get it either.
But he injury prone it seems.
If anything, that could be more because of his size and the fact that he doesn't "run low" very well.

doddpower;224655Petite frame?
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you.
The guy is 6'2, 218 lbs.
He's a pretty big guy. He's not wide, but he's tall.
James Starks is an amazing powerhouse. What a great back he is to have playing for the Packers. I hope he can stay healthy and ride this season out in winning fashion. I was very impressed with his play yesterday. He will only get better, and he will break off some big yardage for us. You can see it.
We have to figure the loss of Bulaga hurt the continuity of our run blocking, of which there was little to begin with. Maybe with EDS at LG and Lang at RT for a time we will see improvement there, and some big runs as a result. That is my hope anyway.
OK, no body else gets hurt!

Pack93z;224659As much as I would like to say otherwise, but Fairly has been kicking more than just Sitton's ass as of late. He is playing like Suh should game in and out for the hype. I hate the thought of having that tackle tandem to go up against weekly.
If I was to say though, Saturday was the one that was getting his ass handed to him more so. They left doubles in to protect him even.
Next season, I expect the Packers to shore up the C spot and look for depth across the line.
This was a really tough Lions Dline.

Just watched this game again, and what a battle it was. I didn't realize how well AJ Hawk played Sunday. He had a great game. Starks could prove to be something very special if he can stay healthy the rest of the way out. Looking at the blocking, you can tell he wishes he could get a couple of those runs back. Missed a couple of big holes. Our defense was exceptional.

Yes, tall for a RB is actually a liability (from historical purposes).
Guys like AP are rare.
The best backs since I've been watching football who actually had long careers (in no order) are Wallie, Barry, Emmitt, AP, and Faulk.
AP's the only one over 5'10".

These are probably before your time, but maybe not: like Marcus Allen (6'2") or Eric Dickerson (6'3")? Christian Okoye (6'1")?
Gale Sayers was 6-0.
Jim Brown 6-2.
Bo Jackson 6-1.
Chuck Foreman 6-2.
Hershel Walker 6-1.
Edgerrin James 6-0.
Steven Jackson 6-2.
Ricky Waters 6-1.
Otis Anderson 6-2.
Arian Foster 6-2.
Those were and are all pretty good RBs in NFL history, all 6-0 and taller.

Did you have to put Chuck Foreman on that list?
When I was a kid it was like every time I watched the Packers/Viking game, Chuck Foreman was ruining my Sunday again.

No shit. He was really an amazing RB. Raw power. Had some moves too.
