play2win;241881Somehow, I'm still alive. Gators!
However, I would rather see Marquette win it all. They've positioned themselves well and have played great since the opening day scare.
macbobCurrently 2nd to last, but with the highest potential points remaining.
All you need is Louisville to not win it all, and for Florida to make the finals.
Nevermind

Down to you and me.
Only team anyone has left is Louisville.
If Louisville loses in the semis, we end up tied for first and if Louisville wins...

I never heard anything about him cheating. What are you referring to?
Also, congrats to macbob for winning, you cheating bastard! (you won, so you cheated, that simple, lol)

Louisville coach Rick Pitino told police that he had consensual sex with and paid for an abortion for the woman who has been charged with trying to extort him, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported on Tuesday.
Pitino is the Ryan Braun of college basketball.
Nothing sticks to him.
Colleges he coaches at get put on probation AFTER he leaves them but none of it is his fault.
[rolleyes]
NYTimes
An article today in The Lexington Herald-Leader cited a 1977 N.C.A.A. report on sanctions against Hawaii that implicated Pitino in 8 of the 64 violations that led to the university being placed on two years' probation.
The violations involving Pitino included providing round-trip air fare for a player between New York and Honolulu, arranging for student-athletes to receive used cars for season tickets, and handing out coupons to players for free food at McDonald's.
He was also cited, along with the head coach, Bruce O'Neil, for providing misinformation to the N.C.A.A. and University of Hawaii officials.
The N.C.A.A. committee on infractions recommended in 1977 that Pitino and O'Neil be disassociated from Hawaii athletics.
There were issues at KY and other places where there has been improper recruiting.
I am late for a meeting and don't have time to search.

Ryan Braun is innocent and it's pitiful that people continue this idiotic guilt by association stuff.
This country is supposed to be operated "innocent until proven guilty", but nope, we idiot American's have to know everything that is going on because we can't live a fulfilling life of our own so we nose up in everyone else's business.
Rick Pitino having an affair gave him an unfair advantage in NCAA?
I thought the guy looked shady, but that's just my own ignorant stereotype from appearance, lol.

Didn't know about the Hawaii stuff. After reading that I can see why he did so well at Kentucky-it's pretty standard fare for them. Fits right in with the other coaches they've had.

ok "hate" is a stronger term than I meant to use.
Rick is a tad slick in his dealings.
I just don't care for him.
He has had some questions with his programs.
Perhaps most of the time it is with the players he recruits.
I used Braun just to piss you off.
But the point was a person can be found not guilty and still have cheated.
A person can get off on a technicality and still have cheated.
There is a huge difference between "Not guilty" and "Not cheating".
I jumbled my comments this morning because I was in a hurry.
I made the comment last year when Bruce Pearl was running around scott free. If a guy will cheat on his wife he will cheat on anyone or anything that he thinks he can get away with it.
that Pitino cheated on his wife has nothing to do with NCAA recruiting but it is indicative of his character.
It apparently shows to some of the families of recruits
Top-50 recruit's father can't trust Cal, Pitino
I am not saying he is the only guy.
I just meant to say that I don't like him.
And just because others do it too doesn't make it proper.
Rick Pitino's recruiting tactics slightly slimy, very common
I am sure there is more.
I saw some stuff earlier but I am just too tired to go look for it again.

“I don’t know if I can trust a Coach [Rick] Pitino or Coach [John] Calipari,” Willis said. “Their agenda is more for their benefit than the kid’s. They’re more worried about themselves.”
I am not saying he is the only guy.

The University of Louisville made a hire recently. The name of that hire? Shabaka Lands. His title? "Special Assistant to the Coach," men's basketball division. The name itself might be eye-catching alone; "Shabaka Lands" isn't a moniker one often hears. But the real reason why this hire matters is that Shabaka Lands happens to be the former high school AAU assistant basketball coach of Marquis Teague, a five-star Rivals-rated recruit from Indianapolis, Ind., a player that not only Louisville but Indiana, Purdue, Cincinnati, Kentucky, and a whole bunch of other programs would like to have join their team in 2010.
I am sure there is more.
