As some of you know. I don't like to brag....but I must.
I have a son that 5 years ago didn't want anything to do with football. He wanted to play golf as I did (I was a professional for 20 years.) so for three years in high school he played golf. then in his senior year he decided he wanted to play football. His HS lost in the finals his jr. yr. Well, he played tight end and rarely played as his team was a mostly run team and Kip didn't have a lot of technique. they ended up winning the state championship his senior year even though Kip hardly palyed. that wa ok I thought as he learned the team concept and the reward of hard work.
Now he is a freshmen in college. Origaninally he wanted to go to Auburn. that changed and he decided to go to a division III school called University of Wisconsin Platteville. He wanted to go out for football! Now keep in mind, Kip is now 6'5" 249lbs. Great hands, little blocking experience. I was hoping he waould not get injured much less make the team. Well, there were 150+ kids that tried out. 100 made the team, with a few that were grey shirted (similar to red shirted). I would have been tickled if he was grey shirted.
So, he makes the team!!! Amazing! I am so proud of him!
The team runs a spread offense where they dont use a tighte end. (Kip is a prototype tight end) so they say to him, " we porobably need a tight end package so we want you to
work on your blocking so we will make you a tackle."
He is on the teamn and is now a "project"!!!!!
well, today, he calls me to tell me that he is now running a tight end package with the first team offense and will play this next week as they will be putting in the TE package (he is the only TE). They also changed his number from a tackle number to a tighte ned number.
HE IS A FRESHMAN!!!!!!
the coaches told me that rarely, IF EVER, does a freshman even see time. yet, they have now told him he is playong nextg weekend and part of the offense!!!
Deal is already done, I am his agent when TT calls. I can't tell you how proud I am!!!!!!
I LOVE MY SON!!!

Nah.....won't happen!
He will get drafted by the Packers, play 14 years for us, make 14 pro bowls, win 7 super bowls, then sign a 3 year 90 million dollar contract with the Vikings once he's washed up! :thumbright:
