- Training camp is for evaluating execution. That gets to be more difficult to do when you have a good number of players sitting out. Just look at the recent injury list:
Dorsey, Johnson, Harris, Richardson, Hayward, Tramon, L Taylor, Lang, Tretter, Bulaga, Datko, Sherrod, Quarless, R Taylor, Nelson, Worthy, Lang
The current injury situation, especially at offensive line, makes that Bakhtiari pick even more crucial than it already was at the time. That is, count 'em, 6 players on the o-line who are currently dealing with some varying type of injury. Lane Taylor missed practice for personal reasons.
- The hamstring injury to Lacy is of particular concern to me as they have a tendency to turn into those nagging type of injuries that just keep cropping up as the season progresses. Luckily we have more depth at that position than ever, but you wonder if this will be an issue for him off and on all year.
- Coach wants to rep all four quarterbacks in the game tomorrow. I cannot imagine Rodgers playing much at all. I wonder if he even plays a full series. I look for the play-calling to lean more run heavy to test the line configurations and the backs. Mike wants to closely evaluate the quarterbacks of course, but with limited practice time for newcomer Vince Young, I am curious to whether there has been enough preparation time for him for a full and fair evaluation.

Keep up the good work, Darkane.
Assuming Lacy doesn't play, and for sure Harris is out, I'm curious to see who gets the most reps and who does the best at RB. With so many possibilities, Green, Starks, Pease, and possibly even Franklin have their jobs on the line. Also, if R Taylor is out of the FB or FB alternative picture, I'm curious if Kuhn solidifies it for another season or if another TE steps up as a pseudo-FB, making Kuhn expendable or if the rookie FB shows anything. Other than a thread about Barrington, I've heard little or nothing about any of the possibilities at ILB, Manning in particular. It sure would be nice for 1 or 2 or 3 of the young guys to step up and take away B Jones starting spot, maybe even Hawk's. And of course, there is still the Crosby situation. I was optimistic he would snap out of it, and he still might, but things look a lot less promising after the scrimmage.

Yes, the kicker situation should become an issue around week 3 for me personally. Right now, I don't really care because there are always others out there who I presume could be just as consistent as either guy. I am, however, interested in how they divide snaps. Pre-season is very chaotic for coaches for sure. Poor guys.
Once the games start being played you will hear a lot more about players like linebackers and defensive backs because they will be out there against some new competition finally. Now we get to see what these guys really have to offer.

Interested battle also to watch guys if not just for the human interest part.
Old Versus New
Jolly vs Boyd - Who secures a roster spot by the end of camp? I will be looking to see if Boyd separates himself early or if the competition remains stiff.

Dude's letting me down!
We also learned the OT Andrew Datko has a concussion and that the Packers will be playing with only nine offensive linemen who are healthy.

I was high on him simply because of his name. But if another guy goes down the depth will really be in question. Yikes!

He was a draft pick. Big fella too. Has not made much impact so far whereas Jolly has made some. Unfortunately it is an uphill struggle for Jolly has he has age and numbers working against him.
