DoddPower;256664And as a result, I expect to see more pass rush.
Pass rush was not the Packers #1 goal against the 49'ers last week.
Containment was.
They hoped they could contain and get some pass rush, but that could have worked out better.

Agreeing with the trend: similar defensive plan like last week with a little more emphasis on the pass rush. Partially because we saw what happens when the defense just sits back, partially because they'll want him to test him and how healthy his knee is. Was half-watching the game last night and he really wasn't moving around much.

Keys to the game

Defense: Just get after RGIII. Blitz the shit out of him and he will make mistakes. That's what the Eagles did. Not worried about Morris after our week 1 performance. Me thinks we'll make the adjustments to play their recievers better than against Bolden, and challenge them at the line of scrimmage.

Offense: Just let Rodger do what he does best and play the offense fast. Keep their defense on their toes. Their defense is pretty good too, but as seen, they can be beat with a fast moving offense. I think we can expose their corners. We need to keep Lacy going too. I hope he continues to be our third down back. First 100 rushing game for him? That would be just awesome.

38-10 Packers Win.

Redskins/Packers Dope sheet is out.

Some material:

DopeSheet
•The NFL championship game in 1936 was the first for both clubs, and the Packers beat the Redskins, 21-6, at the Polo Grounds in New York City.
•The game was played there because Redskins owner George Preston Marshall, upset with his fans’ lack of support, was moving his team to Washington and didn’t want to host the championship in Boston.
•In front of 29,545, Don Hutson caught a 48-yard touchdown pass from Arnie Herber in the first three minutes, and Green Bay never trailed. It was the first NFL title contest won by the Packers under coach Curly Lambeau, after winning league championships awarded by league standing in 1929, 1930 and 1931.
•The teams met in one of the more memorable regular-season games in Packers history on Monday Night Football on Oct. 17, 1983. Facing the defending Super Bowl champions, Green Bay won, 48-47, in a game that is still the highest-scoring contest ever on MNF as well as in Packers history. Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy started at free safety for the Redskins in that game.

Watched a segment on espn earlier. Showed several plays where upon throwing the ball RGIII is doing a slight jump and not planting his feet to throw to protect his leg. I imagine the Redskins will work on it this week but maybe if the D can bring pressure they can put him in a mechanical funk.

This game will be frustrating I believe. I have a feeling that we will be put in some unfavorable down and distances off and on through the first half and keep the game uncomfortably close. I see us pulling away in the 2nd half. I expect at least a 7 point victory so I will guess 10.

Packers 27 - Native Americans 17

The Redskins looked off beat last week...like neither side of the ball has ever had a full practice or game together. I don't think another week of practice immediately solves that and the Packers, looking for a bounce back take the win.
I don't think it will be easy because the Redskins still have the threat of RG3. Post-surgery, he is still fast and still a playmaker. He will make mistakes if the defense pressures him and our DBs need to step it up from last week and make some plays.

Rodgers and the offense are going to go off. The one thing I can see setting the offense back is the absence of Sitton if he doesn't play.

I see the Packers winning this one 34-17.

J. Finley (toe, probable),
N. Perry (neck, full today, probable),
J. Sitton (back, limited today, questionable)
C. Hayward (hamstring, out).

Griffin was a lot better at the end of the Eagles game than he was at the beginning. I'm a little bit worried that will carry forward, but not much. At his best last season, Griffin didn't seem like near the runner Kaepernick is. On the other hand, he was a better passer. In addition, Alfred Morris probably is a better runner than Gore.

The big advantage for the Packers, though, is that the D they will face against the Redskins is nowhere near as good as the Niners. Considering that and Lacy apparently learning his lesson about ball security, and the Packers should have a big win.

45 - 24 if Griffin is on his game; 45 - 10 if he is like he was the first half last week.
