steveishere;276172It looks to me like at that point in the draft he was probably easily the best man cover guy on the board.
Well worth the risk of a 6th rounder even with the lack of experience and injury issues.

What I like too is this kid is a baller. Yeah, had a couple of injuries getting back into football after 5 or 6 years out of the game. That right there is worth considering. Who wouldn't?

This is a player who is tough enough to keep coming back, and he hasn't sustained anything too terrible.
A player who really wants to play football.

Took about a day or so, but I'm really glad we have him.

texaspackerbacker;276130I don't usually like to fall back on "Trust Ted", but in this case ......

We needed a second Safety with cover skills. I think this guy ends up being that. I was expecting/hoping his Baylor teammate, Ahmad Dixon, but apparently Ted stacked the two of them up and thought this guy came out ahead. I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out something like Micah Hyde.

I think you are onto something here!

This guy sounds like an older version of Sam Shields minus the speed.
Given our roster, I would think this guy is probably the most likely to be cut out of our new haul.

Sam wasn't very good but his speed made up for it...this guy sounds like if he's not going to be good enough he won't have that same luxury.

Hopefully, he gets it, quick, and can stick around.
