Happy New Year

A happy new year, lets resolve to eat better as we also give more care to better nutrition.

The Super Bowl will be here before we know it, so let's try to help make those parties special and tasty.
While many serve "Delivery" Pizza, which is fine, others create a theme and serve a special fare. I can think of a few good party themes, can you ?

Tex-Mex
Cheese/Meat Trays
Create your own Chef Salad
Dogs and Burgers

What creative Ideas can you share ?
[cheers]

Mushroom Gravy smothered Pork Chops / Buffet
The Variety Chicken Wing Buffet

This doesn't sound or look good, but it is really tasty and perfect finger food for playoff and Super Bowl Parties:
Its regrettably called "Dog Food" as that is what it looks like.
One you make it, it will be a staple for all Parties, and an idiot can make it:
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb of Ground Beef
  • 1 Large Tube of Tennessee Pride (Or Other) HOT Sausage
  • One Half Block of Velveeta Cheese
  • Cocktail Rye Bread (the little squares
Steps:
  • Cook Up the Ground Beef and Pork Sausage
  • Drain Grease
  • Add the 1/2 Block of Velveeta Cheese
  • Cook up till cheese is thoroughly mixed in
  • Put a spoonful of cooked stuff on a the rye squares
  • Place Rye Square onto Cookie Sheet
  • Broil until you begin to get a small crisp (dark brown) layer on top of mix
Your guests will love it.
Any you can make it in batches so you don't have to make it all at once

Great idea KRK !

Had an Aunt that used to make Sausage Puffs for their Grand Christmas Party. They were special too.
I also like the Crock Pot Meatballs in a thick Marinara Sauce.
I know one Gentleman that make a "Killer" 7 layer Tex-Mex Dip, non better with Tortilla Chips. Yumm !

Know a good Chili Recipe ?

You do go all-out on every sunday, Smokey. That's pretty cool. Most of it sounds delicious, as well. Do you prepare everything yourself?

The only thing I'd change up from time to time is that Miller water you're drinking, but I guess you can't argue about taste. [zipmouth]
