I was going into this season thinking Davante Adams was going to step up from the prior season and then I looked at what he did during the 2014 season.
My confidence has been shaken.
What you don't see is that Davante Adams was rated by www.ProFootballFocus.com last for the Packers WR which included Jarrett Boykin and Kevin Dorsey.
How can we look at this and feel confident about Davante Adams in an increased role for the Packers?

On paper he had a better rookie season than all of our known WR commodities over the last decade.
But yeah he isn't ready. LOL

Holy crap PFF said that.
We had better cut him and bring back Boykin or Dorsey then.
Personally I think someone puts a little too much faith in PFF.
Not that it is a bad site or anything but if I am not mistaken it is a site that evaluates each player in comparison to other players.
It doesn't really evaluate his performance on the field.
I mean if you have 13 RBs with 1300+ yards and 13 TDs one of them is still going to be #13.
Does that mean you don't want him on your team because he was last.
In this case it looks to me that they value receptions vs targets fairly heavily and we all know that a target that sails 5 feet over the players head is not on the WR and it is still a target.
Would you seriously rather have Boykin or Dorsey than Adams simply based on his PFF ranking?
The way I look at it he was a rookie who saw a lot of playing time as the #3 WR, had some typical rookie struggles, showed some great flashes and didn't put up spectacular numbers but not bad for a #3 guy behind 2 of the best in the game.
I admit I'm a little apprehensive that our#2 WR only has 1 year of experience but I haven't seen anything that makes me think he can't take the next step or that he won't.
Even after seeing the PFF rankings I still haven't seen anything of the sort.
I feel much better now that Jones is back to take up some of the slack but I suppose you will dig up some PFF numbers to try to make me rethink that.
Sorry, won't happen.

He hasn't won me over yet, but that fake spike in Miami was sick.

Every time he has seen a lot of targets he has produced. Oh look he is going to be the number 2 this year!
