So... they might actually win a game this season.
Another slap in the face to Kitna though... he's been getting nothing but, since he entered the NFL.
Less than two weeks after announcing that he's coming out of retirement, quarterback Daunte Culpepper has a new home.
Culpepper agreed Saturday to a two-year deal with the Detroit Lions. Terms of the deal, scheduled to be signed on Monday, are unknown.
Culpepper canceled a scheduled trip to Kansas City to instead visit the Lions earlier in the week.
Culpepper left the Lions on Tuesday without a deal but kept in touch, trying to find a home for this season and next season. After several days of negotiations, Culpepper agreed that Detroit was the best fit for him.
In September, Culpepper announced his retirement after being offered only one-year deals. Culpepper felt ignored despite his belief in his skills, and when he couldn't find a long-term home he announced his retirement at the age of 31.
In agreeing to a deal with Culpepper, the Lions have a quarterback to help finish this season and take them into next season. Culpepper, a former Vikings starter, has great knowledge of the NFC North.

He got what he wanted a starting job. I think he will improve that team bigtime unlike my stalker Tengo thinks. Rock you are right though Kitna is always getting slapped in the face he did good in Cinci and got benched because of Palmer, and goes to the Lions and moves the ball but the defense can't stop anyone. Good luck Dante

This helps explain why they traded Roy Williams. They needed to free up number 11.

Culpepper will be the same QB in Detroit as he was in Oakland and Miami.
I thought this was a joke when I first saw this.
Poor guy just wants to play the game..
he'll find out that he doesn't want to play in Detroit, though.

Man you guys should hear Lions fans.
Not too many are thrilled with this one.
They'd rather stick with who they have and let him progress.
Culpepper to them is no better than Kitna.
Hope he's tougher than he has been in the past because with the Lions O-line, he's gonna spend a lot of time on his butt.
