Raise your hand if you've wanted to see Jeff Janis on the field, regardless if he makes a catch? The kid can run and they have to use him. Sound familiar? It should because we've been saying it for weeks if not months.
Trot his speedy ass out there and let him run deep and if he gets a step, hit him, if he doesn't then toss it up and get a 50 yard pass interference.
Yards are yards either by completion or penalty.
Jeff Janis ran a 4.42 40 during the 2014 combine.
Damarious Randall, who ran 4.41, says Janis is 4.3 speed.
Stating the obvious here, Randall believes Janis is faster than him. Hmmm.
Janis is learning more and more with each game.
Sam Shields, who ran a 4.3, believes Janis is a helluva player and it sounds like Janis and Rodgers need to spend some "bro-time" together to get on the same page.

Jeff JanisSpeed can kill, but at this level, I started to realize this year, or halfway through last year, that it takes a little bit more than just speed. It takes technique, things like that. It's something I'm learning and getting better at.

Sam ShieldsMan, Janis is a hell of a player.
Speed? You can't teach that. That's something in the league you need. He's just got to keep working with 'A-Rod.' I don't know how that goes over there. It's getting that confidence with him. That's the job for him.

Imagine if we ever got a guy with speed, size, and agility!
You know, the qualifications of legitimate #1 receiver.

4.4 is not that fast.
Dude needs to learn how to catch without facing the QB before he can get it done deep.
He also needs to learn to catch with his hands and go up to compete for the ball.
He's got the size, that shouldn't be a problem.

It seems Janis has too many limitations to see the field if another guy is available. I hope he can overcome his limitations.

Janis is kind of a worse version of Billy Schroeder isn't he?
He probably will never be accused of being a cerebral assassin.
But I don't see what it hurts to let him run a few deep posts to see if we can hit a few cheap touchdowns.
That is if he continues being a good gunner on punts.

Only thing I don't like about this is that Rodgers has been having issues hitting people deep. Can only draw PIs/put it up for him if the ball is catchable.

I think he is really more talented than Schroeder. As nerdman said he needs to learn how to catch while running and he needs to learn how to run the routes he can't run today.
The problem is that with our offense not even post routes are so simple, depending on coverage you need to learn where to expect the ball depending on coverage and I think Janis is not getting that part of the game. Curiously the other receivers seem to be having problems too with that, Rodgers reads coverage in one way and the WRs in a different way and we have all those ridiculous throws.

If you haven't mastered catching by the time you hit the NFL you have no place ever touching the field. I understand our route concepts can be complicated but come the fuck on. I can't wait until we move on from this guy.

Let me know when he has a thousand yard season and we can discuss your point of view then.
