nerdmann;351033They'll line him up in the backfield and get him the ball in the flat, with some open field blocking ahead of him.
Kind of get the feeling Mike wants to experiment with speed.
Also seems to me they want to challenge Janis.
If they are trying to challenge the 6th WR on the roster, we are FUCKED!

On that note, if this guy makes the final 53, either someone gets injured in preseason,
or someone who played a lot last year will be moving on.
Competition for the last 2 or 3 WR spots is going to be intense.
Just like it should be.
KKinda
glad The Packers have that extra preseason game, will give the drafted and udfa (we will find out soon who they are) guys an extra game to show their stuff.

This kid is a Donald Driver type steal.
Good speed, good return man, very good at back shoulder catches.
Keep an eye on this guy over the next few years.

Laser Gunns;351024What I don't get, for a WR who will undoubtedly top out at the 4th/5th WR slot, why not take the German dude and see if he turns out to be anything.
Tinfoil hat on
I am wondering if the league told the other teams that the Vikings were drafting the German dude.
Seriously, that whole Mayock calling the coach telling them to draft the guy and they do almost seems WWE like.
There was a new article saying that Rams agreed to draft Michael Sam as a deal with the league.
http://590thefan.com/league-made-deal-with-rams-to-draft-sam
As much as the NFL Network were telling us that the Drafting of the German dude was not a gimmick.
I remember distinctly the same type of league shill for Michael Sam.
The league is all about money and having this German dude creates a buzz where football is a very low priority is $$$ for the league and advertisers.
I hope he makes it, but with all this strange media about the Michael Sam deal with the Rams it is hard to think we might not be being played in some weird marketing agenda.
OK tinfoil hat off.

with all the snaps Montgomery, Cobb and now this guy will get out of the backfield why do we even have a RB on the roster?

nerdmann;351036Thing is, the dude has potential.
so do 253 other guys drafted in the past 3 days and a bunch more who will be signed over the next few.
Every guy Ted signs has me hoping for the best and I was expecting a WR to be taken sometime this weekend but I'm not getting excited over this guy yet.
A very superficial look at this pick tells me the Packers are expecting more from Janis on offense this year and they may want him off the kick return duties.
Assuming all our injured WRs return at full strength my guess is Adams or Abbredaris will be odd man out.
My money is on Abbredaris.
Then again we all may be reading too much into the big picture.
It could be that Ted and Mike have no special plans for this guy and he was just a player that they really liked at that spot and they will let the chips fall where they may.

Lacy and Starks aren't speed guys.
Especially Lacy.

I was about the say the same thing. Every single draft pick has potential! The coaching staff has the responsibility to maximize the rookies talent and every single rookie has talent.
This Trevor Davis ... I know nothing about, other than he's supposed to be fast.
