To me, the problem is guys were "catching" the ball in the endzone, but it was questionable as to whether they were indeed able to hang onto it, THEN spike it, or if they were just coming down with it and losing control of it as it went flying out of the end zone.
Make sure you catch it.
THEN do your celebration, once you're down.

My issue with this whole damn thing... how is that not a catch. Yes college... but where does the rule come from... NFL. Just go back to the two feet.. control.. catch. It is what it should be.
