"go.pack.go."Why the heck did we punt when it was tied 21-21?

I'm not sure of the exact number, but I think it would have been over a 57-yard attempt.
Chances of Crosby making it are almost nil.

On the other hand, considering out defense wouldn't stop my two-year-olds, you do raise a valid point.
At least we'd have gotten the ball back with more time on the clock.

Kicking a football in 6 degree weather is like trying to kick a rock. I agree with the call for a punt.
Of course that almost ALWAYS works when you get it downed on the 2. That is, if you have a defense that can actually STOP someone.
Too bad we don't have that.
I had already given up, and KNEW our D would once again hand the win to the other team. My only hope was that we had scored a TD with only 3 seconds left on the clock. Meaning that the ensueing 50 yard kickoff return would not have hurt us, as the clock would have run out.
Alas....twas not to be.
Our defense closed their eyes, and pretended to be French.

Alot is coaching. they also need to figure something out on defense.
we are close but not good enough. we also are in rebuilding sometimes it takes time so olets not jump off the deep end yet. Give it some time, ounce they work out the coaching staff making stupid calls and work on our defense it will be ok down the line. i like what i see for the msot part
we are off on a few minor things that would make is good.
Now as far as the moronic idiotic stupid refs. i stand Irrationaly irritaded that i am blasted out of my gourds. Thank god we got BEER and Liquor!!!

Rebuilding?
We were 13-3 last year.
This is a team that should have been pushing for a Conference Championship.
No this record falls on two people, Ted Thompson because he didn't provide enough players and didn't take a step forward.
That is undeniable.
Mike McCarthy because he can't coach discipline on this team.
The numbers of penalties accrued by this team this year is an embarrassment and the lack of individual discipline and the conditioning of this team can only fall on one person and that is the coach.
It's his job to have his team ready.
When you go from 13-3 to 5-7 it sure as hell has more to do with other things than just injuries.

We have to stay in our gaps. We just haven't had good gap control...

Look, we've been in all our lost games this year, minus the Saints game. We had a chance to win, we just didn't get it done.

I've had a similar thought.
Obviously there is a certain degree of luck to injuries, but when you have the same players getting injured over and over again, there are only two conclusions to be drawn: either they're being put back on the field too quickly, or they're simply out of shape.
I believe that the efforts to prevent injuries in the preseason are contributing to more injuries during the season.
We're simply postponing the process of natural selection instead of eliminating the weak ones before the season starts.

I believe there are a number of players on this squad -- Nick Collins for one -- who should have been placed on IR weeks ago to free up slots for new blood.
Surely there are players on the waiver wire or even on the street who are hungry and fit enough to make a contribution.

I can say that significant injuries, acl's etc
happen.
Every team gets significant injuries.
The things that concern me are the hams and the groins and the recovery time on sprains.
It's just not a good thing.
I would hope that at the end of the year this team does some serious soul searching because what is wrong on the field is in direct correlation to what is wrong elsewhere in the organization. Again, I don't know if it's stubbornness on Thompson's part or just misjudging talent, or if it's bad coaching or a combination of all of this, but it is my belief that everyone needs to look in the mirror.
