Vegas has the vikings a 2.5 - 3 point favorite. I'll take the points because GB is going to beat them outright. 28-17.

Remember the 49ers game plan against the Packers, run the ball until they've proven they can stop it.... take that same game plan and use it against the Vikings defense, whom are set up to defend the passing game.

But their DTs have been a weakness and they just loss their best run stopping DE and replaced him with a KGB speed rusher, run the ball on that DL ALL DAY! Force them to drop a Safety into the box and then think about.maybe letting the passing game go to work.

On defense, attack that OL, if Cook gets started, he's hard to stop, so attack them at the source and try to get to the ball before it leaves the pocket, I know, easier said than done, but Packers defensive front tire their OL a new one last year and they didn't upgrade much, while Gary has hopefully improved and Kirksey or a dime Safety can follow Cook around. They got quality quick WRs which could be tough too.

Both teams will run the ball. The Vikings are compelled to make the Packers prove they have shored up their run D and know the Packers commitment to the run is not a Mike McCarthy smoke and mirrors facade.
If it comes down to the team that passes it better I like the Packers...by a smidge. I say this because by all accounts Arod has had a great camp. This tell me the WR's have also gained more of his trust and more capable to contribute going into year two of the offense. This WR group has been railed by the media. Lost in the barrage of criticism is these young guys came into the league needing time to develop in a win now league with fans that have no time for such a thing. Not to mention a QB that has not been exactly young receiver friendly over his entire career.

We will find out soon enough if Gute's gamble to stick with these guys pays off. Ml's plan will be to run the ball, force the D to stack the box, and let ARod take over.
I like the way that sounds.

A win over the Vikings would be huge.
Especially if the season ends up being cancelled at some point because of covid.
It would give us something to enjoy.
Of course the opposite would be true if they lose.
But I think our chances are good to get a win.

I'm interested in what both side will do, as the Vikings have now lost their best starting DT and both of their starting DEs, while they traded for a.great speed rusher, he's like KGB, little run defense.

I'm sure Zimmer has a plan to help out that DL, I assume crowding the LOS with LBers and/or have a Safety come down to help late.

But Vikings also have the problem of only two Safeties on the 53 (though Covid rules allow to bring a backup from the PS), and half of their CBs are rookies, and their most experienced CBs are going into their 3rd year with limited playing time.

If the Packers offense doesn't knock this defense around, then either they got out coached, and/or out willed. As their defense has problems, some of which match up well with what is supposed to be Packers strengths, running the ball and Rodgers getting the right matchups.

and yet the Vegas line has not moved much. From 2.5 to 3 with most of the houses at 3 it's dropped to most of them at 2.5 but nothing at 2 or less.

With the Vikings lining up a slew of new cornerbacks, I think the Packers offense can really take control with some intermediate passing and YAC to move the chains and open up the playbook.
