I realized recently how much I like the sound the piano makes.
it's relaxing and soothing. It calms me.
That got me thinking about something I had wanted to do a long time ago and that was to learn how to play piano.
Do any of you have piano experience?

Kevin,
You drug me back with this post. The last few days have really being difficult ones. While I don't play I love to listen to my wife play.
It's especially wonderful when I come home after a hard day and hear her at the piano as I am walking into the house. I think my favorite is "Für Elise" because that's the name of one of our nieces.

Suffocate the world with goodness.
I'm thinking of buying a 88 key piano and teaching myself.
I really like Trans Siberian Orchestra's "Für Elise" and "Carol of the bells".
If I could teach myself those two, I would probably never leave the piano.
I just don't know that I'm capable of learning. I'm pretty old nowadays.

You should.
If the "want" is big enough the "why" doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if it takes you 10 years to learn them. You only have to please yourself.

My oldest is moving to La Crosse after the semester is over with, so I might then as I'll have some extra space to play with. I found a piano for $400 and looks promising. I can plug headphones into it so no one has to suffer.

Nice. Kids love it when they find out parents love it when they leave the nest and their room isn't turned into a shrine.
One of my spare bedrooms is the computer room now.

As you all know, I LOVE to sing! But I never could learn to play a musical instrument. Other then a harmonica.
My brother was self taught on the guitar, and played a 12 string beautifully. He had 2 bands in his teens.
It always amazed me how a person can play an instrument, and be able to sing at the same time.
If you have the patience to learn to play the piano, go for it!
