KRK;443398Beast posited:If it weren't Smith and Mack on the bookends, I think you would see 1, but I think 2 is more likely.
I would like to see Jenkins, Runyan, Myers, Newman, Turner

I'm just not a huge fan of Newman right now... he's a rookie, with a lot of potential ahead of himself. But too many rookie mistakes for me when you have a solid veteran in Patrick there.
wpr;443404I thought they would go back to what they did the first few games.
LT Elgton Jenkins, LG Jon Runyan, C Josh Myers, RG Royce Newman, RT Billy Turner.

The first few games, Patrick started at OG. Then he got injured and Runyan more than answered the call, he looked the best OG we're used at OG all year (I assume Jenkins would be better).

Yes, it would seem most of the blocking assignments involved him.
I hope he is not all-preseason.

Unrelated, you have to hand it to this defense and to Joe Barry.
We are incredibly banged up and still put forth a terrific effort.

Absolutely... thought I still have fear this defense might come and go as the opponents talent level... meaning teams with great OLs like the Saints might kill us still... where the Steelers and Bears are struggling with their OLs this year. Bengals have some good pieces but building their OL still. But they showed up surprisingly well against the 49ers! Not sure how to feel about the Lions... they got some very good OL pieces but no WRs to worry much about... and they're the Lions.

Of course, OL is one position that teams have been struggling to get enough talent at more than others, so more teams are struggling there. But chasing the Cardinals around might be annoying as hell unless we're healthy... they got so many receivers and a mobile QB.

Anyone else surprised that the Bears got away from their aggressive passing attack after it worked early on there?

Yes but...

I think MLF has something to do with that.
Formationally, he pulled in Lazard tight and did not spread TE as much so that they were able to chip, or at least have that as an option, slowing down the pass rush.

As usual with the Bears, I was amazed they got away from things on their offense which worked....runs, crossing patterns, passes to TE's, but Nagy seems to have his game plan and does not adjust to what is working and what is not.

I didn't notice this until Aaron Jones mentioned it. Packers were wearing their home green uniforms. Any reason Bears wore white or is that common they wear white at home?

wpr;443441I don't disagree that it is possible and can be a good thing in the long run. Just not probable.

Z I don't know why the jersey issue. I found it strange too. Some teams like to wear white at home. That way the fans see lots of different colors from the opponents. Some wear white down south to mitigate the sun/heat.
Some teams (mainly college have an "all white" or "all black" game were they want the fans to dress in that color too.

Found the answer. Bears were wearing throwbacks, that's why they wore white jerseys.
