Like I've said, the first spot I think I'm putting Tom is at LT. His pass protection is his clear strength, his power game is his clearly weakness. LT is hugely graded in pass protection and hopefully he can learn about handling the power from a similar style player in Bakhtiari. They could boom or bust, Bakhtiari boomed.
That's at least if we don't have to work him as a backup Center. Though maybe we can work him at both LT and C.

I see Tom moving to the right side. More than likely RG. At least after Meyer returns to play RT. Since he has been on the left side in his college career, it will take him a little time to get his footwork down.
I am not worried about his strength. After a couple of months with Chris Gizzi and the rest of the S&C crew he will be ready to take on almost any DLinemen he faces.

Doubt Tom wins starting job anywhere on the line this season. They aren't going to name one position for him. He is so versatile, he is depth for every position on the line.
"Meyer returns to play RT"? You mean Elgton? I see Elgton going back to LG. I think Yosh will win the starting RT job. They have said all 3 rookie tackles will get shot at winning that RT spot as well. I just think Yosh will be the one to win it.
If Elgton is healthy...the starting five week 1 will be:
LT- Bakh
LG- Elgton
C- Josh Myers
RG- Runyan
RT- Yosh
All the rooks provide more valuable depth. Royce Newman is depth as well. He needs to up his game before he can be starter again. Runyan twice the G at either spot that Newman is.

Yep. I was talking to someone when I typed it. Thanks.
Yep.
Nope. He's our best RT. Yosh is backup.

Elgton has played very little RT. I am not doubting he can excel starting at RT, but the position he has proven to be most dominant at is LG.
Yosh could start at either tackle spot, but obviously he won't beat out Bakh at LT. They like Yosh more than I think you realize. That is why when Bakh and Elgton were both out Yosh was the one that became the starter at LT. Not Dennis Kelly or Billy or anyone else. Yes, they made the mistake of not starting Yosh at tackle in the playoff game and the line was a absolute mess. LaFleur, Steno, and Butkus know not to make that mistake again. Yosh will get his shot to make RT his and I think he will seize it.
We will see how the 3 rooks look in camp. Gute said: "I would think the coaches will take a look at all 3 of those tackles at RT." Gute obviously views all 3 rooks as OTs more than anything else.
