Up until tonight, Dan Orlovsky had the the honor to one of the worst plays in NFL history by inadvertently running out of the back of the end zone and committing a safety in a 12-10 loss in 2008 (the year the Lions went 0-16)

But, thanks to Jimmy G, the aforementioned play now has company from the 49ers 11-10 loss to the Broncos:

I'm trying to decide which is worse. On one hand Orlovsky, a 3rd stringer that year behind Jon Kitna and Daunte Culpeppers corpse, was under pressure and panicked. On the other hand, Jimmy G has logged a lot of snaps in pressure situations and should know game situation management better. It also appears Jimmy G had a play to Deebo and wanted to go that way but didn't pull the trigger (hard to see from the tv angle if a DB was in position to make a play). In contrast, Orlovsky could have stood firm in the pocket and gone with a "Fuck it, Calvin Johnsons down there somewhere" pass which was usually a good bet.

Naturally, Twitter is having a field day including Dan Orlovsky himself:

(Also, tried to make this a poll but couldn't?)

In my opinion, it's not close...

Jimmy G took two steps out and got rid of the ball... which is what a QB is supposed to do... and he couldn't get out of the OTs to throw it away...

Dan Orlovsky took more than 5 steps and still didn't know he was out and never got rid of the ball... and had he just stayed in, he could of kept running and thrown the ball out for a fresh new play...

But Orlovsky also looked like he subconscious went to the white to use it as a run way... like he would of got tracked down, but he had no reason to keep backing up...

Seems like a no-brainer most obvious thing to me. Dan's first game action vs Jimmy's how many years in the NFL and games played? You can easily excuse the first timer. The seasoned vet, played in a Super Bowl ... clearly Jimmy is vastly worse. Not even any room to dispute that, lol.
