go.pack.go.;457443I doubt he makes the roster. Don’t we still have Crosby?
Crosby is currently a FA

We only had an UDFA that never signed with any team during the season currently on the roster. But the UDFA's story had more more hopefully than the draft pick story (at least so far).

Yeah I was hoping for Moody, or whatever the Michigan guy’s name is. I never guessed someone would take him in the 3rd though.

Sigh I was hoping for a guy that will get the ball into the endzone. I'm tired of giving up the most field posiotn on kickoffs because we can get it there.

And finally I found a Packers connection to K Anders Carlson.

Anders older brother is Daniel Carlson, whom was drafted in the 5th round by the Minnesota Vikings. In a 2018 game against the Packers, Daniel would miss three FGs, two of which were in overtime and this resulted in a 29-29 tied game.

After this week 2 game, the Vikings would release the rookie kicker and he would go on to sign with the Raiders. You'll never guess whom was Daniel Carlson's Raiders ST coach for 2018-2021.

2019 was a down year for Daniel, but every other year for the Raiders he was over 90% with FGs, including leading the NFL in points for 2020 and 2021.

So the Packers STs coaches, in theory, might have some inside knowledge, and/or they blinded by knowing they were quite successful with his brother. We'll find out which.

On a side note, Anders has his degree in aviation and was working on his Master's.

58% of his kickoffs went for touchbacks. Though I don't know what is normal, and some coaches ask their kickers to get as much hangtime as possible and kick it a bit short to force the return team to return it, of they believe they can get better field position than a touchback would.

Beast I realize the concept these days is to kick the ball short and stop the return before they get to the 25. Unfortunately the Packers kick coverage team was so poor that letting the other team start at the 25 was a "win" for GB. As he aged, Crosby wasn't getting the ball to the 5. That and his hang time wasn't enough for the coverage team to get down there.
Young guy may be better at this. Coverage team may be better than they were the past couple of years.

Oh yes, I wasn't defending Crosby on that, those comments were towards the new rookie kicker (which I haven't seen him kick off).

But all I read was that the rookie was always a kick off specialist (which I assumed meant he was darn good at it, and maybe my assumption is wrong) as then I came here and saw everyone is complaining he (the rookie) can't kick it to the end zone.

Crosby's leg was seemingly getting weaker, though, Gute said he thought Crosby leg would look stronger as he wasn't coming off surgery this year. I wasn't sure if he was right or that was just wishful thinking.

Carlson kicking at a camp. I have zero idea if these are all his made kicks or all his attempts.

Martha Careful;457438Let’s see… Has trouble getting the ball to the end zone, misses kicks (other than the iron bowl), and is slow to kick the ball…

Plus, he kicks in the south, or he should get more distance

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how do you like the pic?

I thought some were commenting on how quick his approach was.

His performance to date has not been very encouraging. I don't know if the long snapper, the holder, AC or a combination of all the above. This is a big issue that has to be worked out.
