if wicks makes catches, its much easier.

also, give credit to d.
got it done albeit against a depleted receiving corps.

lack of non-blitz pressures, will bite us in the heiny is down the road.

I'm torn on the D. On one hand they struggled against the run and failed to generate pressure. On the other hand they surrendered only two scoring drives, got some timely turnovers and when they *needed* a stop at the end of the game got it unlike last year vs Denver, Atlanta, Pittsburgh etc.

This game really showed the improvement that Gute brought to the S position in the offseason. McKinney snagged yet another INT (and nearly had a 2nd one) while Bullard and Williams were all over the field.

I agree. Allowing 13 points, 2 turnovers, and getting stops when needed is a success to me. Yes i hate the fact we have no run D and our pass rush mysteriously vanished but ill chalk it up as a bad day. This D can still cause turnovers which helps negate some of its flaws. Im more concerned about the offense looking worse than last year. It seems like they were playing like vets last season and rookies this year. Wicks and his drops are starting to concern me and Love is playing way too much hero ball.

Looking back on this, Packers seem to be doing what most D's around the league are doing. Playing 2 high safety to eliminate the big play. This allows the run game to excel and the short routes up the middle to be open. This is why RB's this year are making a come back and QB play has been down from years past. You routinely see QBs with 200 yards now instead of 300+.

Just gotta fix the pass rush and we are set!
