I did not think this was a particularly good game for coach LaFleur. The straight ahead zone runs seem to work very well and we went away from them until we put Malik in.
and the challenge was moronic.
Maybe it was because of a limited playlist for him but those had been working and continued to work.
I would've loved to have seen a bootleg or read option with Malik keeping the ball once or twice just to keep the defense honest, and I think it would've gained a lot of yards.
Defensively, I think Hafley is doing a tremendous job, but our defensive backs in zone just don't understand that they have to worry about the deepest guy in their zone not the shallowest guys.
I think we'll probably see another case of Vaginitis from our all pro quarterback which means we will have to really play a lot of zone coverage against Detroit.
I think we should start Malik, rest Love and get him healthy for the stretch run

I don't think the challenge was moronic. The defense was getting handled. The challenge was never gonna go our way, but it gave the defense extended time to rest and try to regroup. Coaches have said they do this. It's not solely about the challenge success, it's about time.

Pretty incredible stuff. Trusting Willis in that spot with a play installed in game when he hasn't practiced with the #1s all week.
Edit: Found the radio call! As glorious as I remember it from yesterday.
Edit #2: mistakenly quoted my post instead of editing it. Can someone merge the two posts
