Why not take the FG?
Then (if your defense can stop them) you have a shot a a win with a FG at the end. Now you are still down by a TD.
This game is not giving me hope. If you can't beat the lowly Bears, how can you feel like they can win against GOOD teams?

Definitely take the points. We see how it goes. We miss those three points every time.

Anyway, the Bears aren't as bad as we say. They have good defense. Good special teams. Helluva set of WR and two good RB. Their OL and OC were biggest issues. Thankfully, we blocked that FG and eeked out a win.

Bears will likely come back to earth after that OC change sparked them. Or maybe they build on throwing ball quick rather than holding it 3 seconds. Either way, we got a W we probably didn't deserve.

Let's just give Bears credit though.

Wow Zero. You were spot on about the game.
We got lucky to walk away with a W.
I'll take it, though. Sure beats a loss.
I'm thankful for the win. The blocked FG saved the day.

You know what they say. Broke clock and all. 🤷 If my "theory" hold true, Vikings will beat them by double digits. Unless Vikings turn it over twice or more.

Anyhow, glad we got the W. It was a game I didn't feel good about at all. At no point did I feel we did anything well. It almost felt like we stumbled into yards if that makes sense. I miss the days when we forced our yards.

Oh, Josh Jacobs is a monster!

that's the most disappointing win I can remember watching.
Offensively, our red zone play calling and production was atrocious. Love had another bonehead throw in a Key situation. It took us way too long to understand that the slow developing run plays were not working and the quick hitting zone run plays and much better production. After the first drive, it took way too long to get back to those.
Defensively, we knew they were going to go with a more quick pass game and it took us way too long to adjust.
Enegbare Van Ness and Gary all blew contain, and without much pressure.Devante Wyatt on several occasions did not maintain Rush Lane discipline, together with the poor edge play resulted in 70 Rushing yards for Williams in key situations.. 55 also blew which should've been almost a game ending sack because he tried to make a spectacular hit instead of just making a tackle. Quay Walker has to be the worst middle linebacker in the NFL. He cannot make a tackle in a Key situation. I wish we had signed Wagner who can make a tackle although obviously he can't run as well.
I hope these guys look in the mirror and figure out things or we could lose our next three games quite easily.

Gute absolutely has his hits, but at times he also has his, what in the hell was he thinking? Picks...

C Myers over the much more hyped Creed Humphrey, whom went to the Chiefs 1 pick later. I'm guessing this mainly had to do with Myers in the BIG10 (which Packers seem to like their linemen more) more than the BIG12)

Georgia CB Stokes over slightly more hyped Georgia CB Tyson Campbell, whom went to the Jaguars 4 picks later. (No idea why Stokes over Campbell... Stokes had 4.31 speed, but Campbell had 4.4 speed and was thought to be the better CB).

WR Amari Rodgers over much more hyped WR Nico Collins, whom was picked 4 spot later and had all the normally physical WR skills that Gute had drafted prior to that. (Supposedly the Packers thought Rodgers could play both WR and RB, and turns out he couldn't do either. While Collins had the great size/speed combo that Gute is normally looking for).

Georgia LB Walker over the much more hyped LB
Devin Lloyd whom went 5 picks later (and I still would of went with Edge Rusher. I assume they went with Walker due to his great athletic potential in coverage... as he is extremely athletic for his size. But he never learned run fits well, as he had a massive elite and dominating DL wall in from of him clogging while in college)

I feel like Gute generally has the right strategy of what positions, the more valuable ones, up top, but sometimes over thinks it and makes a mistake.

One common connection also might be how they do in interviews, Myers was Ohio States go to guy went needing someone to deal with the media, while Rodgers was a son of a college/NFL coach and was good in the media. Not as sure about with Stokes and Walker, but maybe they were better talking as well.

I usually don't pout after a win especially when it's over the bares but geez guys. From MLF and Hafley's play calling right down to the last player on the active squad, there were serious issues out there all day.
Take the win and move on. Only play better next week please.

Great points...as usual

That notwithstanding, there is a dramatically larger drop from
Walker to Lloyd (or whoever the next LBs drafted ) than from Myers to Humphrey.
We saw the drop from Myers to Jenkins

Unrelated Tom had another very solid outing against strong edge guys.
