Justis Mosqueda Walker has been ruled out for the rest of the game

Green Bay Packers starting middle linebacker and former first-round pick Quay Walker left action against the Seattle Seahawks and is not expected to return. Late in the first half, Walker went down with a left leg injury and was seen limping off of the field.

Initially, the Packers quickly diagnosed his injury as an ankle issue and listed him as questionable to return. After coming out of the locker room for the second half, though, Green Bay announced that Walker was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

In his place, Green Bay is playing linebacker Eric Wilson at the middle linebacker position. In three-linebacker looks, the Packers are using Isaiah McDuffie and Edgerrin Cooper as outside linebacker, though, the Seahawks play three receivers a majority of the time on offense, so Green Bay is often in its nickel defense with only two linebackers on the field.

Walker has been playing pretty good football for the last three or four games after struggling to fit in the run to start the season. Hopefully, we get some good news about his injury status soon. At this time, there are no updates on his condition.

Sorry for this horrible thought, but if the other guys are healthy, do we really miss Walker that much?

Also, I believe before next season, the Packers will have to decide on weather to pick up Walker's and Wyatt's 5th year options as first round picks.

Any thoughts or odds in the Packers picking up those odds?

The 2021 year guys will be FAs, but there is only CB Stokes, C Myers and ILB McDuffie left.

Then the 2022 looks like it could be an expensive year and we need to save up cash for that FA year.

ILB Walker
DT Wyatt
WR Watson
RG Rhyan
WR Doubs
RT Tom
DE Enagbare
LT Walker

That's 8 big time role players or starters all potential coming up at the same time (or 6 if Walker and Wyatt have their 5th years picked up).

You left off some

2021

ILB McDuffie

2022
LT Walker

I think Watson is an absolutely, as we need someone to be the deep threat, and not only does he have speed, but size and power.

When teams go to zone coverage, a lot of the Packers underneath weapons can kill them, but Watson is one of the few that kill them if they go to man coverage, he's the weapon that makes them pay for that.

Fans seem to dislike Quay Walker. His teammates love him and coaches too. I don't get it.

Personally, I only see value with him on the field as a blitzer. Outside of that, I just am not seeing it.

ILB McDuffie - yes

2022
LT Walker - likely, even if the currently injured Morgan develops, we may need a replacement for Jenkins at some point

2025 Free Agents
RB AJ Dillon
RB Emanuel Wilson
WR Bo Melton
C Josh Myers
T Andrew Dillard
T Kadeem Telfort
T Caleb Jones
TE Tyler Davis
DT Tedarrell Slaton
OLB Eric Wilson
LB Aaron Mosby
OLB Isaiah McDuffie
CB Corey Ballentine
CB Eric Stokes
S Zayne Anderson
P Daniel Whelan

I can see them re-signing these guys to some prove it kind of contracts. Although, Josh Myers might end up getting a three year deal. Stokes I think gets a one year prove it deal with no guaranteed money.

Keep
RB Emanuel Wilson
C Josh Myers
DT Tedarrell Slaton
OLB Eric Wilson
P Daniel Whelan
OLB Isaiah McDuffie
CB Eric Stokes

A few of these might be brought back to fill out the roster, but my guess is more draft picks will fill the voided spots.

Move on
RB AJ Dillon
WR Bo Melton
T Andrew Dillard
T Kadeem Telfort
T Caleb Jones
TE Tyler Davis
LB Aaron Mosby
CB Corey Ballentine
S Zayne Anderson

It's too early to make a discussion on the players. As far as Walker, they will try and keep him but not for the 5th year money.
