ESPN Elgton Jenkins has stayed away from the Packers' offseason workouts because he wants the team to make it more financially stable to move to center full time.

It is so frustrating when management and players are at an impasse. They may not technically be there but what else can you call it when a player is not on the field with his teammates. Voluntary or not doesn't matter.

Coaches have seen him in practice and he's played at Center for entire seasons in college, and as retired C Jason Kelce has stated, Center is the easiest OL position... (assuming you have no issues with the whole snapping/handling the ball thing, which more do then you'd expect). So maybe they aren't concerned at all...

But I'd like to see him play at Center before giving him an extension....

If he wants some of his unguaranteed money to be guaranteed for the season, then sure, he's probably going to get all of it anyways.

If the Packers were open to an extension anyways, then sure fine... but I'm concerned some of these guys might be on a decline.

Also, I believe some article suggested the Packers might already be over the cap for 2026... and that's without re-signing any of the 3 starting OL, and possibly two starting WRs, 1 starting ILB among others...

And the contracts they have to play with are Alexander, Jenkins and Clarks, which is not many to get down.

Based on last year, when Jenkins went out, Rhyan then moved to Center which surprised me.

Some vets just don't want to come in early, so maybe he's just enjoying his boys and the strip clubs right now and it's not a hold out.

But if it is a hold out, I would enjoy to hear what Jenkins is requesting, he's already the 11th highest paid OG in average salary, even though his contract isn't a newer one and would already be tied for the 2nd highest paid Center.

To be the tied with the top paid
- Center, he would just need one million more per year
- 5th top paid OG he'd need 3 million more per year.
- 2nd top paid OG, 4 million more per year
- 1st OG, 6.5 million more per year

It'd be extremely hard to argue to give him that much more salary... he's already quite near the top.

But none of his remaining salary is guaranteed. Maybe that's what he wants? Or an extension.

I don't think I'd have an issue with giving him more guaranteed money for 2025 season, nor giving him an extension of what he's currently paid and guaranteeing the next two years of extended...

But zero chance we'll pay him higher than the 2nd highest paid OG. And even that seems like a little much.

Technically and CBA, yes.
Every single HC and OC/DC trying to develop team chemistry and work on installs, NO

Retrospective draft annoucements:

"With the 62nd pick of the 2021 NFL draft, the Green Bay Packers select...

Josh Meyers, turnstile."

"With the 63rd pick of the 2021 NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select...

Creed Humphrey, absolute brick."

Damn.

The impact of that miss should put it in the tar and feather category, but we are Wisconsin nice. (Plus WPR 😊) Hell, I think even Kev knew to take Creed there. 🤪

The "even Kev" part is humor, and Zero did mock draft him repeatedly...

Guarantee 10 mil of Jenkins 20 mil for 2026 and move on, knowing that we still don't even know if this move to center by Jenkins is a good one, as Beast has alluded to.

Damn. Hopefully the cap is more like 305 vs 295
