Good at skill positions, with no lines = a Fail. That sums us up pretty much.

"Rockjock07"This has been a nightmare for everyone in GB tonight, I'm most angry in all the mental errors tonight. Perhaps this is the effect of Mike McCarthy coached teams.

He will get it fixed. Wait, no he won't. Same shit, different week.

We put NO pressure on Favre, Rodgers caused half the sacks by not getting rid of the ball, receivers dropping passes.
Too many errors. The only thing we did right was stop AP.
Had we also been able to get pressure on the old man, we would have had a shot. But 7 plus seconds to stand there in the pocket? Hell, even I could complete a pass with that much time.

i'm not sure what was said in the rest of this thread but my thoughts are:

i went to bed at around 10pm feeling we'd get beat BADLY when i woke up & found we only lost 30-23, i had mixed feelings.

did favre play well?
hell yes.

did we beat ourselves?
absofreakinlutely!!!

does this game give favre the 'revenge' he was hoping for?
not so much.

i was impressed that we found a way to stop AP.
other than that, i wasn't impressed with anything!!
to think we were one td away makes me sick!
the fact that nothing was talked about besides favre during the entire freakin game last nite & for the rest of this week makes me sick!

we beat ourselves!!!
i hate it when that happens. :(

Mike McCarthy Post-Game Press Conference Transcript - Oct. 5

(You gave up eight sacks. How are you going to shore that up?)
Well, it's a combination of things. We need to look at the specifics of it. It's obviously an issue. It's gone on for four weeks. You can't play this way. We're playing way too up and down and it's hurting us because of the big plays we're able to generate; we're too much a big-little offense right now.

(What's the injury report?)
(Cullen) Jenkins had an ankle and cramps but he returned. Will Blackmon has a knee sprain. We need to look at him. Daryn Colledge also had a knee sprain. DeShawn Wynn had a wrist injury and (Desmond) Bishop has a rib bruise.

(On fourth-and-goal at the 1, did you consider kicking a field goal there?)
Not at all. I'm playing to win. I thought it was a good play. Frankly the third-down call bothers me more than anything. They're in a goal-line defense, we're in a goal-line offense and it's a tempo play and the ball was held up by the referee or whatever happened, and frankly I didn't have time to change the play because of the 40-second clock. Liked the fourth-down call, wish I had the third-down call back.

(What were you yelling at the ref about on that TD pass against Harris?)
I don't recall.

One word...disappointing.

McCarthy, has to step up his play calling, not to impressed this year.

Rodgers, keep him in the gun and lets go no huddle, just like the Bills did for years.

Favre, he didn't get his full revenge.
For the media and the nation he did, but that's what the media does.
His real revenge is to beat us at home.

Finley looked good..
Wow!
You guys get an Oline, and you guys will have a scary offense.

I couldn't believe how long Favre had back there.
Not a sack given up.
Was that thanks to the lackluster pass rush of the green and gold or was that just stellar offensive line play on the Vikes?

Packers run defense shows up..
Nice job there.
Although, I'm willing to bet that it may had something to do with AP's soreness (remember his limping after that fumble-TD?).
I also believe that if the Vikings keep pounding it, AP breaks at least one big one.
Either way, though..
I'm happy.
Teams will always focus on stopping AP and will force Favre to beat them.
Favre is showing that he will.
Maybe the Vikings will face less 8-9 men in the box?
We'll see.

Special teams for the Vikings has improved.
The new coordinator has done alright.
Still could use some more work, but I'll take the performance we had last night..

Love the Purple People Eaters 2.0.
Pat and Kevin Williams were fairly quiet, and that's a good thing.
Both teams safety's were invisible, with the except of the Vikings Madieu Williams, and even he was only mentioned like once or twice.
They need to step up..
Especially with the big strikes Aaron had against them.
Winfield is still a stud..
We'll miss him when he retires.

That's all I have for now.

i don't even know where to begin with how disgusted i am with this team right now. I'm to the point where this is the worst team i have seen in years.
its sad really, so many talented players that we can't even utilize because of the downfalls of the most important positions.

i'm just gonna keep quiet and let the rest of you analyze the next 2 weeks because me spewing my rage all over the forums isn't gonna be fun to read.

I'm happy because the Vikings one...but it didn't really feel like the game met the hyped expectations.
I expected it to be closer.
It was disappointing to see the Vikings defense give up at the end and let you score to get right back in the game.
A lot of dropped passes by the Packers.

I'll obviously take the win, but this could have been a better game.

Glad nobody got too banged up on either team.

Already looking forward to the next matchup...which I expect to be much closer given the fact you will have the home field advantage.

After the great performance in the preseason by this D. I think we are all forgetting this defense just switched to the 3-4 this off season.
