Gregorious is one on one with James and leaping forward should get us at the least one yard, getting it to the 2.
More realistically, he gets us 4 yards, getting it out to the 5.

Grant on the other hand, not knocking him, but they had 9 in the box.
11 Packers minus Gregorious and minus Rodgers and you got 9 on 9.
Pretty ugly situation to be in.
I had a bad feeling before the ball was hiked that it would be a safety.

So why is this a stupid call by McCarthy? Again, he calls an option play. Don't you expect your QB to change it when you see the defensive look?

When McCarthy gets that offensive call in, all he sees is the personel on the field. They might bring up two safeties in the box, but you don't know that before the snap. In hindsight, he should've gone pass and Rodgers could've just audibled it to a run, and not the other way around, but c'mon, this one's on Rodgers.

Actually, I'll take this one even further. We pretty often see a free runner getting to Rodgers or him just not recognizing the blitz before it's coming, it seems. Maybe he just can't read a defense too well, pre-snap. Of course, he's just a second year starter, but he's missing quite some things.
