I just read something that may explain why the chat module doesn't work too well.

It's not to be used with a dotnetnuke version greater than 4.06.02 and we started on 5.6.2 and are up to 6.0 now.

Looks like there's no chat module for dotnetnuke 6.0

Irresponsible?
The browser one is using should be essentially irrelevant nowadays.
In this era of standards-compliant browsers, if an applet is unusable in one browser, it is
bad.
Period.
There hasn't been an excuse for such incompatibility in almost five years now.

Unfortunately, there isn't any actual chat room. The chat module on the site is server side only.

The DragonFly CMS website used an applet, this DotNetNuke CMS uses a JavaScript module. Do you know the difference? Do you know how each COULD behave differently in a browser? I'll sit an wait while you Google it and come back pretending to be a know it all some more.

Bottom line, as I mentioned before and you have conveniently ignored so you could get more of your ignorant bitching in, the problems with the chat module is of my own ignorance as it was never intended for versions higher than 4.06.02, which came out in 2007. We started out on 5.6.2 and are up to 6.0.0 currently.

So again, I repeat, the Chat module here sucks and it's my fault because I shouldn't have installed it on this version of DotNetNuke.
I'll have to look for a suitable replacement or buy one.

Kevin, as I said before, I am not blaming you for anything.
I was just surprised that they would release a package that was so buggy.
(It's free, right? So there should be no hurry.)
The bugs don't bother me one way or the other; I just come to this site for fun. In fact, while you may think I am bitching, the reality is I like to put the site through its paces to see where it breaks.
I know you take bugs on your site personally (too much so, in my opinion), so I figure you want to know where the problems lie, so you can fix them.
It is a matter of pride for you.

It bothers me. I don't like it when stuff doesn't work. Yes, I do take it too personally. I won't (can't) argue that one, lol.

I'm glad and do appreciate you (and others) putting the site through a paces, I simply need more information than things like 'chat sucks, its unusable' or what not. I'm talking with the dev's of both software's giving them the feedback I recieve s othey can expedite the fixes. So when I get limited information, its frustrating for me because I can't go an say 'hey yea dudes, it doesn't work, so ... umm fix it'.

I want to know everything that is wrong and want to know how to re-create the problem so I can fix it. I want the members of PackersHome to be able to say the site runs smooth, efficient and is reliable.

What gets sand in my vagina is when someone says this or that doesn't work, or this happens, but they provide nothing to help me resolve the issue.

It's like a kid saying 'daddy it hurts' ... what hurts 'daddy make it better'... make what better?

Edit, I should make this clear. If anyone sees something funky and can't replicate it, that's okay, still mention it and say you don't know how it happened. Then I'll know there's an issue and to look out for it as will others. And perhaps someone else will have the same issue and they can respond with 'ok this is how to make that happen'.

Here's another warning to not use the chat on the version we were on, lol.

Warning
Do not install the DNN Chat 01.x.x at DotNetNuke 5.3.0 and above and uninstall it before you upgrade to DNN 5.5.x and higher !
We want release a new version soon as it is possible.
