They certainly need to work on getting off the field faster.

Glad we won but that defense needs some serious work.

Hopefully this is not a putting my head in the sand and more harsh reality, but I still think NFL Ds are going to be bad for the first few weeks of the NFL.

Right now, I'm not overly concerned.

I'm am though concerned about Collins' health though as he's been in the past 3 years one of our top takeaway getters.
That's important.

Just thought of this -- the game today represented the first time since the 2009 Wildcard game against Arizona that the Packers have trailed by more than 7 points. Crazy.

P.S. Cam Newton is on pace to pass for 572 yards in the season finale. [grin1]

Jay Cutler is on pace for being sacked 80 times. And the Kansas City Chiefs are on pace to give up something like 1,000,000 points this year.

Have to disagree. Blown coverages have been killing us. The shockey pass where there was nobody within 20 yards of him, and the TD pass on the same drive with nobody within 5 yards of whoever caught it come to mind. Had a couple big plays off blown coverage last week too. If this team wants to play "bend don't break" on defense, they can't get blown wide open on a long, uncontended pass for a touchdown. I'm fine giving up 600 yards every week if every drive is a field goal, punt, or interception, but the TDs kill you.

Yet all we heard from the announcers is how Cam Newton is so awesome.

I said this in the chat, but I don't like it when a QB runs into traffic without sliding.
Call it pussy if you like, but I'd rather see my QB live to fight another day.
Love what [ar] does now, and just slides or runs out of bounds.
Vick never finishes a season because he does the crap that Cam's doing.
If Cam keeps doing this, he won't finish the season.

Cam isn't accurate either.
The deep pass to Steve Smith should have been a TD.
Luckily for us, Smith had to slow down, alloying us to be able to tackle him.
And Cam missed a two-yard TD and the stupid announcer said how "difficult of a pass" it was.
I wanted to slap that guy upside the head.
If you can't complete a 2-yard pass, you don't belong in the NFL.
