I thought these statistics offered up by Kevin Seifert were interesting:

Coordinator Dom Capers dramatically shifted his game plan after two weeks of heavy blitzing. Instead, according to ESPN Stats & Information, he sent four or fewer pass-rushers on a season-high 77.6 percent of quarterback Matthew Stafford's drop backs. Capers maximized the players he devoted to coverage and left Stafford checking down to running backs and tight ends for most of the game.

In fact, Stafford's average of 5.2 yards per attempt was his lowest mark of the season and an indication of his inability to get the ball downfield. Lions wide receivers caught 10 passes for a season-low 101 yards, and all three of Stafford's interceptions came when the Packers had at least seven men in coverage.

And of course, B.J. Raji, who had an awesome block on a red-zone run today, had this little gem:

"The only statement we made today," said nose tackle B.J. Raji, "is that we don't plan on losing anytime soon. No disrespect. This is a good team we played, the Detroit Lions. But we don't like to lose. We haven't lost in a while and we're getting used to this."

It would be hard not to like this team.

How about these first-half statistics from the 49ers/Ravens game:

49'ers Smith----- 8 or 12 / 70 yards / 0 TD's / 1 Int / QB rating 47.2

Ravens Flacco -- 5 for 9 / 69 yards / 0 TD's / 0 Int's / QB rating 80.3

I'm not too worried about these guys in the playoffs.

In fairness they're each playing against some of the best defenses in the league.

Ultimately I agree with you -- I'm not worried about either QB. I would, however, be concerned about playing a defense of the caliber of either San Fran or Baltimore.

(Baltimore is a scarier D)

The elder Harbaugh brother finally gives us a bit of breathing room in the conference standings. [smile]

Seriously though, that was a tall order for the 49ers to fly across country on a short week and play one of the best teams in the AFC. As far as tie breakers go though, SF won't lose any ground in conference record. They're still in a good position to get the 2 seed and a 1st round bye if they take care of business against the cupcakes in their division. What's sad is that they could probably lose the last 5 games of the regular season and still win the NFC West with a 9-7 record.

As far as Suh goes, guy is going to get at least a one gamer and it wouldn't shock me if he got two or three games. Dude can deny it all he wants, but the video evidence is pretty clear. Have all the respect in the world for players like Megatron, but players like Suh aren't helping the Lions shedding the reputation of a dirty team.

From Kevin Seifert's NFC North blog on ESPN.com:
Ndamukong Suh has a chance to be one of the best and most marketable defensive linemen to ever play this game, and the Lions should be a good team for several years to come. But in his first two seasons, Suh has cared more about beating people up than beating them. That's too bad.

Well summarized, Mr. Seifert.

The more he denies, evades and tries to rationalize, the worse Goodell is gonna spank his ass.

Suh has some deep seeded anger issues.
What those are is anybody's guess and for Suh to work out if he wants to play in this league.

I was wrong on my prediction for the game. I'm glad I was, and next time will keep my mouth shut.

And YES, Suh's explanation for his actions was utterly bitch-like in it's presentation. You're dirty, we all know it, and yesterday the whole world saw it! Own it, don't be a lying lil bitch about it...sheesh!
