GB kicks Oakland's butt and Aaron has his first QB rating below 100. (96.7 according to ESPN)
The int really dropped his rating.
20+ points.

I've lost some respect for Finley this year. He just doesn't seem to play with much intensity anymore.

Totally disagree. I saw him throw some wicked blocks today. On the INT, the defensive back made a play. It's hard for you to look at the play and read a lack of intensity on Finley's part.

One of his blocks in the first Q was totally wicked.
He leveled the guy.

This season has been a total failure. The Packers AGAIN failed to put up more than 50 points. Such a disappointment.

I was being a complete dick in the chat about it, but truth is, it was an illegal play by the defender, and nice awareness for the defender to secure the ball. Finley can't really be held responsible because the ball was thrown very short and he was falling backwards away from the ball because of illegal contact from the defender.

The ball wasn't that short.
It went through both of his hands right at the top of his jump.
The whole point of having Finley out there at the goal line is to make those catches.

I agree, but the ball should have been placed higher and deeper, not shallow an short. As you said, Finley is supposed to get those via jump. Not much of a jump needed there.

Edit, just watched the play again. Definitely should have been thrown higher. Finley didn't even need to jump as the ball cleared the defenders head by a few inches. That's a difficult catch and should have been caught if the defender didn't commit pass interference. Even with the interference, and falling backwards away from the ball, it would have been nice to see him fight to knock the ball away or something. The play just sucked.

Nonstopdrivel;200114Here are some milestones that could be accomplished today:

  • With a win OR with a loss AND a New Orleans loss, the Packers clinch the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye
  • With a win AND a San Francisco loss AND a New Orleans loss, the Packers clinch the No. 1 seed and home field advantage throughout the playoffs
  • With a win, the Packers solidify their hold on sole possession of the second-longest winning streak in NFL history (19)
  • With a win, the Packers extend their NFL-record of consecutive games in which they never trailed in the 4th quarter (19)
  • With a win, the Packers become the first Packers squad and only the 8th team in league history to a season 13-0-0
  • With 2 touchdown passes, Aaron Rodgers ties the league record for most consecutive games with 2 touchdown passes (14)
  • With 2 touchdown passes, Aaron Rodgers ties the team record for touchdown passes in a season (39)
  • With 1 interception return for a touchdown, Charles Woodson ties the league record for most career interception returns for touchdown (12)

These are just the first ones off the top of my head. I am sure there are more.

we won and niners lost

what does that do for us
