Clay Matthews out, Greg Jennings questionable for Sunday

The Giants offense won’t need to worry about Packers linebacker Clay Matthews wreaking havoc on Eli Manning come Sunday night.

Matthews was ruled out by the Packers on Friday after missing the entire week of practice with the hamstring injury he’s been fighting since the Week Nine victory over the Cardinals. It’s not the first bout of hamstring troubles that Matthews has faced in his career, which is why coach Mike McCarthy said Friday that the team isn’t going to push him back into the lineup any sooner than he’s totally ready.

“We want to make sure when Clay’s back, he’s back for the run,” McCarthy said, via Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

The news is a bit better on wide receiver Greg Jennings. His recover from a torn abdominal muscle has progressed to the point that he’s questionable for Sunday. McCarthy said that there would be a meeting with doctors on Saturday to assess whether or not he’ll be able to play. When Jennings does return, the coach said he will be inserted right back into the lineup and expects it to be a seamless transition.

Safety Charles Woodson, cornerback Sam Shields and linebacker Terrell Manning were also ruled out for Week 12.

cheeseheads123;224823This game scares me because they are coming off two bad losses and a bye week

This is a good point. But I think if the receivers catch the fricking ball we will be OK.

win or lose, we still have alot of play left in the North.

beating Chicago and Minni (2x) are almost a "must" at this point with all of the teams so close in the standings.

Basically this.
The rest of our year is loaded with important games. However, my guess is one of the wild card teams will come from the north and being a wild card in the playoffs is not all that bad of a deal. Get a dome game then have the pleasure of knocking out ATL again would be fucking fantastic.
I have no qualms staying out of lambeau in January.

Truth be told, I feel more confident with this team playing away then playing at Lambeau ... sad to say but that's the reality. All tho, I would rather knock out the Bears in the NFC Championship game again, that would be to die for!

In reality we do play better at home. Look at the record at home the last 3 years... It just so happens the most important games have been losses against the same team and NY isn't really a non cold weather team.

That, and if the O line can keep Arod from getting killed.

That was a disgusting first half of football.
It's always going to be tough with an offensive line like this.

If the first half was disgusting, what adjective best describes:

a.
The second half?
b.
The game?

My answers:
a.
Useless.
b.
Viking-esque.
